Remarks

The admission process started from registering myself on the university website. After that, I was allotted a time and place for the first level of the selection procedure that is the written exam. It was an MCQ test based on the course I chose with some general knowledge and language questions. On declaration of the result of this test, the selected candidates were called for on-campus interviews and a written exam on holistic education. The interview was based on whatever was learnt in class 11th and 12th Economics (largely from 12th Economics). The exam on holistic education is to answer a 15 marker question that focuses on how aware we are of holistic education and how our previous institute laid emphasis on holistic education etc. Once the result of these was announced, we were called for the admission process which included counselling, verification of certificates and other documents, verification of fee payment and meeting the campus director.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It's an honours course, which means you'll get more credits than a normal economics degree. The highlight of BA Eco Hons at Christ University is that you'll get admission even if you don't have maths in your 11th and 12th grades. The course requirement states that the student must either have exposure to economics OR to maths in class 12. There are enough faculties to guide the course. Largely, faculties are well qualified and are graduates from top institutes like Harvard, IIM, Delhi University, Central Universities etc. Christ has a well structured teaching method that is informed to the student right at the beginning of each sem. The students would be provided with a detailed document of the syllabus, the materials required (which would be provided by the faculties themselves), the deadline for each submission and the teaching pedagogy. Term exams are conducted precisely on time Without any delay. Exams aren't that easy if you are not a regular learner.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Students from Christ University are most likely to land upon the finest internships available. These include internships from companies like Goldman Sachs etc. The stipend varies from company to company. You can also do internships like those offered by Unschool as a marketing intern, for exposure. There are also numerous finance internships that students could look for; for those who are interested in financial economics. Finance internships largely come with major and minor projects and presentations that would help the students gain effective experience.

Placement Experience

4.5

From the 5th semester onwards, the placement registration starts and the students can opt for placements if they want to. Accenture, De Shaw, TopHire, JP Morgan Chase & co, Kingfish etc are a few names of the companies that visited for students from BA Economics honours. The highest package is 7 LPA. Average is around 4.5-5 LPA. It's completely based on the students' performance that they get selected. 15-20% of the students get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Considering it an honours course and the quality of education, the fees aren't that high. The chances of getting a scholarship are really low given the fact that the university isn't actually ready for such scholarships. If you are really great at your studies, you might get a scholarship. But students with financial constraints are most likely not to get a scholarship. Fees are not fixed throughout the course period. If the fees were say 75k for your seniors, it's likely that your fees would become 77k in the very next year. However, it's mentioned beforehand by the University that the fees given on the site are tentative and might change in due course of time catering to the increase in the price of facilities provided for the students.

Campus Life

4

Christ University is the hub of extracurricular activities. There are numerous social groups, clubs etc run by the students jointly with the support of the university. These include the Centre for Social Action (CSA) the biggest club of the University, the Debating society (DebSoc), the internship assistance club (Clare), the Finance Club, the economics club called Bulls and Bears etc

Interview Experience

4.5

Interview was quite easy, given the fact that I was well-versed with my class 12th economics. The interview largely consisted of class 12th concepts and a few general economic concept and the new developments in economics. They also grade our attitude, confidence, politeness, language etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BA English curriculum at the Central University of Karnataka is comprehensive and academically relevant. The course covers British Literature, American Literature, Indian Writing in English, Literary Theory, Linguistics, and Cultural Studies, providing students with a strong foundation in language and literature. The interdisciplinary approach under NEP and the availability of electives were among the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course.

Placement Experience:

The university does have a placement team which faculy and student led. Studnets become eligible for placements towards the end of their fourth year - last semeter. Approximately 100-150 NGO's come to campus for recruiting. The university does not promote private firms for placement but students can apply indivitually. The average pay is 20 Lakh per year. Many students after undergraduation opt for higher studies, so is my plan. But most of the master's students opt for placement and 98% - 99% get placed into NGO in top positions. I plan to pursure a masters degree after my undergraduation, preferably in economics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I selected BA(English) course. Because I was quite good at English that's why I chose it. And I still Didn't go to college. Because our class starting date didn't announce by the college (Kittel arts college, Dharwad). That's why I have no idea about teaching staff and facilities. Of course, I hope it will be the best that I heard about this (kittel arts college, Dharwad) college. I heard only positive comments about this college.

Placement Experience:

In the final year students become eligible for placements and we have placement cell also. In 2nd year only we have attended 2-4 news channels interview and training. But due to pandemic, we didn't attend placements and all. And our seniors to didn't attend for placements because they are interested in higher education. So the percentage of placements is not clear, but for us, they prepared fully to attend any type of job interviews and also to handle all juniur of news channel and newspaper.
