Remarks

R.V college was my target. I scored the required amount of marks(125) in COMEDK to get into RV. So, other colleges were pretty much not my preference. According to my score, I got a rank of 4125. So, I got counseling on the second day. By the time I went to the counseling, all the circuit branches were over and I chose Civil Engineering.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

This was the course available for me when I went to counseling. So I chose it without any doubt. Faculty is very big in number in the civil department. 20 students have one counselor to look into the needs of the students. Faculty are well qualified and give innovative projects and teach actively. There are 3 internal exams (1 internal per month) and 1 sem end exam (after 3 months). It was of moderate difficulty. Better preparation helps us to pass. Sem end exams cannot be neglected.

Internships Opportunities

5

Many Companies which offered internships, a fee of them are Samsung, intel, etc. Some of them offered high stipends ranging from 50000 - 70000 whereas some internships offered good stipends ranging from 30000 - 50000. Finally, the basic ones are from 10000 - 30000. I didn't get any internship, so I cannot mention projects and outcomes to clarify the tasks.

Placement Experience

5

From the 6th Semester, students begin getting placement opportunities. There are many companies that visited the college few of them are:- cognizant, Wipro, Deloitte, Flipkart, etc. The statistics of highest and average package pay as well as the percentage of students getting placed are yet to be known for me.

Fees and Financial Aid

There was no fee hike in my 3 years of BE in RV college of Engineering. The cost of the study is 1,83,000 for an academic year. This is because I've joined through COMEDK, if I have joined through KCET, the fee would've been less. I wasn't eligible for any scholarships and I'm yet to get a job.

Campus Life

5

There are many fests conducted throughout the year. There is a cultural Kannada habba fest conducted every year and also different clubs in the college conduct different fests whenever there is a window. Every 2 years 8th Mile fest is conducted which is the biggest of RV college. A lot of books are available in the college library, even e-journals can be accessed through computers in the college library. Amenities in the classroom are decent. Sports and extracurricular activities are given good preference and respect in the college. There are many clubs run by students in college, a few of them are Coding Club, Ashwa racing, RVCE DEBSOC, Quizcorp, etc.

Hostel Facilities

5

Rooms in the hostel change according to the year. In the first year there were 3 beds per room and in the 2nd and 3rd years there were 2 beds per room, a cupboard for each student. The meals are of good quality and the hygiene in the mess is well maintained, but the meals are Vegetarian only. Registration for a hostel is on a first-come first served basis. Once the admission process is done, registration for the hostel room should begin right away. There are many rooms and PGs close to the college. It is better to stay close to college instead of traveling daily to college from far distances.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would give complete 100 marks for my course. As the artificial intelligence is trending and most used now, the scope for my course has been increased rapidly. This was one of the reason why I opted for this course. We will be given three internal exams in one semester and two internal lab exams in one semester. We are continously involved in workshops ans seminars to gain knowledge on real world applications along with our academics.
