Remarks

I applied to SMIT and got selcted but decided to attend RGU as it had good infrastructure, library facilities, laboratories, and state of the art facilities that other Engineering colleges couldn't provide

Course Curriculum Overview

Course and Curriculum were of Gauhati University as it was registered in the said University. The faculty was top notch and the teachers were very friendly and approachable. Most of the faculty were Masters in Engineering or higher qualified.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 125000 per year

Placement Experience

There are placements available but mostly from tech companies and from core companies for branches like Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical. Overall the placement is below average and needs improvement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is fixed for the entire duration of the course. Mine was 125000 for a year. BE in Civil Engineering. Scholarships are provided for toppers. The entire year is free of cost for the class toppers in Engineering

Campus Life

Concesio is the official fest of the college. It is the best college fest in Guwahati. All books are available in the library and can be borrowed when needed. Classrooms have all necessary tech like projectors, etc. Sports facilities are abundant like TT, Basketball, Lawntennis, Football, indoor badminton courts and Cricket.

Interview Experience

I had a PI in the admission test with the Pricila of Engineering School Mr. Banerjee. He asked simple questions like aim in life and what I want to see myself doing in the next few days. There was also a member of the faculty present.

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIT Guwahati are excellent especially in the tech field ,with high placement rates and strong average packages generally Rs 30 lakh per annum. Top companies regularly visit the campus. After completing the course if i do not get placed on campus which is hardly possible i'll look for other off campus placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the professors are good here.The college covers the core subjects required for strong foundation in engineering. However the theoretical coverage is good the scope for practical exposure is still required.

Haah here the faculty are splendid since they are all alumini of iit or nits . And we get college mail.in this mail will get notification about classes and more activities like hackathon or some technical events.

Placement Experience:

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

The placement of Assam engineering College is average as compared to the other colleges like iit and not. Aec gives placement around 20-24 lakhs and many company parts in the placement cell and many of the students get their dream job

Placement Experience:

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

ASSAM UNIVERSITY SILCHAR , THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY

Placement Experience:

only fourth year students are eligible for campus placements . the detalis of the visiting compaies are not thte sure but at least 10 stuents are placed each year from every single batch. the higest so far was 20 lpa and it was in amazon , the student who cracked that placement applied it off campus . on campus placement was not more than 10 lpa so far . the percentage of students getting placemnets are less than 50% not because of quality of placement but majority stuents opt for higher studies or goverment jobs rather than direct placement . my paln is to also pursue higher education

I first applied for Assam downtown University but didn't go there since it was in an outskirt area and also comparing the fees to Royal Global University the fees in Assam Donwtown was much higher.
