Remarks

My college is one of the best private college in Central India. It was very near to my house. It had good placements and the fees of the college was not high as compared to other private college. Wonderful campus, good environment, peaceful places, with sports ground, cricket net practice area, basketball court, volleyball court. It had nice air conditioned library with books available for the wide range of likings of readers from Novels to UPSC preparation books. It always encouraged research and provided funds and guidance for the same. It encouraged company exposures that's why it arranged internships. The faculty was very good, each was good in academics and had professional experience which they shared with us and always upqdating us with new technologies in market. I appeared for State Engineering Entrance Exam after the results were announced, I applied for the CAP round organised by DTE Maharashtra and on the basis of my scored I was alloted this college. Then I showed the college allotment letter to college and then admission process started. it included fill up of form and payment of 1 year fees. The entrance exam was conducted in first week of May, Results were announced till June End, Admission process commenced in July and College started from August.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose this course because I was good in building drawing and Civil Engineering had subjects of building drawings which I liked the most. Secondly, I was always curious about structures and all my curiosity was answered by Civil Engineering. I never learn by heart anything in my entire engineering time, the faculty used to explain concepts so well that I understood everything. Most of my faculties were Ph.D's in their respective fields and had experience of lots of years in both teaching and field work, so they had various ways to explain. They used to explain hard concepts in layman's terms so that it was very easy to understand, presentations, models made it much easier to understand. The faculty ratio was 1:66 in thoery classes and 1:20 in practicals. The semester was 3-4 months long and had 2 units with assignments in it all added to the final score of 100 marks ineach subject. It was easy to pass exams once you had your concepts cleared otherwise they were very hard to pass.

Internships Opportunities

5

I opted for small term internships organised by my college at PWD Nagpur. College arranged internships at Public Works Department, Nagpur Metro Rail, imaGIS, Tata Consultancy services, SMS, Persistent, Infosys, Railways and many famous companies. The basic stipent ranged from 6000 to 12000 Rs. Per month. Some companies had multi national projects, some built infrastructure like dams, bridges, railways, some had commercial, government, residential buildings projects, some worked in surveying through out India, etc.

Placement Experience

5

Placements at our college was really good. Some students even got 4-5 offer letters from companies. Companies like Accenture, Infosys, Wipro, Tata consultancy services, Larsen and toubro infotech, Shapoorji Pallonji Engineering and Construction, AFCONS, Goldman Sachs etc used to recruit our students through college placements. Highest offered package was 30 Lacs per annum and average salary ranged between 4 lacs per annum. Some students were sent for 6 month internships in the last semester where they worked and at the end got job confirmation letter. Nearly 80% percent students got placed. I am pass out student and currently working with Shapoorji Pallonji Engineering and Construction company where I got selected through campus selection.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees remained constant through out the year, we had to pay all the yearly fees at once in the starting of the year but for some needy students college also provided installments so they could easily pay the fees. Fees were less for backward classes and College also availed them backward classes scholarships by state government, economically backward classes scholarship was availed to students by college from state government , linguistic minority scholarships were also provided by college and once you go for M.tech, Ph.D from the same college you get job at the college along with monthly stipend.

Campus Life

5

Life at campus was very good , several events were organised at our campus and students from all over Maharashtra used to participate in them. Pratishruti was our prime cultural fest organised each year in the month of February - it included traditional night, poetry night, DJ battle night, Rock band battle night where famous bands like The Yellow Diaries, The Local Train used to perform and ended up with DJ night where Famous DJs of India like Nucleya, Lost Stories, Zaeden, Progressive Brothers, etc used to perform.Special event was organised for freshers each year which end up at fresher's party. Our college had Air conditioned library and reading room with books available over a wide range of readers choices, one can issue a book for 2 weeks free of cost or can read it at reading room, it had digital library too which had access of journals and books from publishers all around the world.Sports, Literary events among the branches and other colleges was organised at college each year, social service camps were also organised where my friends used to help develop a school at remote villages and teach people.Literary club, dance club, music club, robotics club, social club etc were there at college and one can enter any of them and develop their qualities.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel provides a wonderful peaceful room within the campus adorned with all the basic facilities of gyser, watercooler, day-night canteen, gymnasium, sports room available for students. The room was very study focused. Some had two beds and some had one bed and ragging was an legal offence so never happened. I didn't stay at hostel but frequently visited there and got this information from friends.Mess was there to provide pure veg food which included - breakfast, lunch, dinner properly psychronized with the college timings of each and every branch. Menu was decided after taking consent from all the students. Food quality was good.Booking of room started in the beginning of semester and if the rooms are occupied one can avail a rental house or PG at minimum cost of 2500 rs per month near by college area at Anant Nagar and Gittikhadan.

Admission

No there wasn't any group discussion or interview of students by college as the selection was on merit basis and it was done by State government technical education board. Once you get a seat a the college through CAP round you just have to show the allotment letter and pay the fees for admission.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
