The first step for admission to Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is filling up an online application form and paying the application fees. We have to mention our branch preferences and all our academic details in this form. After filling this form we receive a confirmation message from the college. Then there will be several online counseling rounds for the candidates who have applied for admission, where students are allotted branches as per rank in JEE and branch preferences filled. And finally, there will be an offline counseling round just before the commencement of the course, where we can change our branches based on availability. The overall admission procedure is very organized and smooth.

The course curriculum is very well planned and designed as per Internation standards. A considerable portion of the curriculum has practical learning sessions where students can get hands-on experience in their respective fields. I chose this course as I was impressed by the course objectives and curriculum design. The faculty-student ratio is quite appropriate and every student can interact very well with faculty. Also, the faculties are very well qualified and to add to that all of the vast research and industry experience. The schedule of the course was also very well planned and mostly followed very strictly. And for someone who attends classes regularly and completes the assigned task sincerely, passing the exams is very easy.

There are very diverse opportunities available for students for internships in the college like industrial training incorporates or manufacturing plants, research projects in other reputed institutes, starting your own research project, etc. Many organizations visit the college from time to time and hire interns from all years.

There is a huge opportunity for students in campus placements. Many reputed companies visit the campus for recruiting students for various job roles. And many students are offered very high annual packages. The Placement Cell of the institute is very helpful and supportive. They try their best to groom the students and make them ready for placements.

The fees structure is a bit costly compared to other colleges but the facilities provided by the college make up for it. There is a pre-defined and reasonable fee hike annually. And students are provided a lot of financial assistance in the form of scholarships, stipends, etc. The campus placement scenario of the college is also very good. And deserving students get placed in reputed organizations with good annual salary packages.

There is a very exciting life inside the campus. There are a number of college societies, technical organizations, cultural and technical fests, etc. The campus environment is very welcoming to everyone. Students can get engaged in any activity of their choice and explore many horizons simultaneously.

The hostels are well equipped and clean. There are a lot of facilities available for students like common area, study area, gym, guest room, etc. And the hostel environment is very interactive. Although there are some minor issues from time to time like delayed service, dirty washrooms, etc.
