Remarks
The admission process was extremely smooth for me. I applied through JAC and opted for NSUT as my first priority due to travel reasons. I availed my SC quota to get some relaxation during the admission process. There was one month of counseling. i was allotted seat in DTU but, it got upgraded to NSUT in spot round at the very last moment. DTU i more likely didnt want to attend because of travel reasons and somewhat placement opportunity reasons ( being told by seniors ).
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose CSDS because I discovered my potential in class 11th that I really was into doing some code and I had been doing UI/UX design for a while back then and always wanted to create a real working app. These sorts of wishes and milestones set me on this path. There is one faculty for each subject teaching almost 60 students. So id say there is a 1:60 teacher-student ratio per subject. I honestly don't remember any qualifications of the faculty, most didn't tell and I never bothered asking. But the teaching methods were great. studying for two semesters id deduce that 8 out of every 10 faculties are excellent in their job. There were a lot of exams and short tests for every subject. 7 exams for one subject including Vivas and short tests.
Internships Opportunities
I have no clue of the compy names yet other than a guy working at Microsoft as an intern in the third year I know of. I think most projects are about fixing a bug or building a new app or software systems working collaboratively with a team
Placement Experience
In 4th year students are eligible for campus placements. I have no clue. First-year guy here. I have heard of last year highest package being 90 lakhs per annum. I don't know honestly. I believe in excellence, so my plans after a degree would be definitely getting a job I feel I wont be underpaid at. Let it be college placements or off campus I'm going to do my best in both. Also I will do my best to get a pre-placement offer during my internship in second year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since the covid began there hasn't been any relaxation in the fees. I think it even hiked up for 1st year by an amount of 20000 considering the last year's data. I haven't got any scholarship or financial assistance other than the usual category quota relaxation.
Campus Life
None to be fair. Being a first-year student in the time of pandemic I haven't been able to have any luxuries of the fest, contests, etc. The library is awesome I've always been in love with libraries. There are a lot of books. Most of them about the courses and college studies though. You won't be able to find any fun reads or encyclopedias or any novels etc other than course books. At least I haven't yet. The classroom is awesome. A very big hall with a smart class. Sort of like every class 12th student dreams of when they think about college. I'm very pleased with the classrooms. I honestly don't know of any other than stand-up comedy and Hackathon clubs. those are the only ones I am a part of.
