Entrance Preview

I appeared Normal Interview with the Vice Principal of St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, Commerce Section. There was no particular scoring system. St. Xavier's College is one of the best colleges in India so I opted this college.

Internships Opportunities

College offers regular internships from second year of B.Com. onward in various big companies Like Taj Hotel, Oberoi Hotel, LT, Wipro, Godrej and others.

Placement Experience

5

St. Xavier's College offers Placement in Various Big Companies having head offices and operations worldwide like CITI India, Delberg, Bain and Company, AON Hewitt, and so on. so there are various opportunities to get 100% placement through college interview in entire Third year of B.Com.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees Structure is very much Feasible for all the faculties. Commerce is just for Rs. 4000/- for First year of Bachelor. Second year is for just Rs. 5000/- and another is just for around Rs.5500/- to Rs. 6000/-. B.SC is almost in the same fee structure. B.Sc IT is quite expensive than other like 90000 for entire 3 years of bachelor. Almost same for BMM and Rs.100000/- approx for BMS.

Fees and Financial Aid

College helps the students to get the loan for further studies. College provides Recommendation letter for abroad studies. College also supports for scholarship and other for those who wants to study further.

Campus Life

5

Campus life of St. Xavier's College is the best. Ratio between girls and boys are 60% girls to 40% Boys. But there is no gender discrimination in the college. There is equal participation of girls and boys in all the academics or extra curricular activities. There are so many extra curricular activities are conducted annually.

Exam Structure

There are total 6 semesters. Every Semesters have 3 Exams. 20 20 & 60 marks pattern. First 20 marks CIA is mostly Practical except few subjects out of 7 subject. Another 20 marks CIA is all written in the form of Short Notes, MCQs or Brief Answer depending upon the subject patter. And Semester End exams is all written full 2 hours exam.

Admission

Once the result of HSC Exam (12th) was declared, I collected my marksheet from my junior college and went to collect the admission form to St. Xavier's college. Once I collected the form, I submitted the form along with the documents of my HSC results promising to submit LC later on. Vice principal of commerce section approved my admission once confirming that I am currently working in any of the company.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very good on paper. University has given like 8 subjects from which we have to choose 5. But this college itself chooses 5 subjects and students now have to learn only them ... Like in 3rd year sem 5 there was subject international finance I wanted to study that because baf course is all about finance but the college had subject management. So yeah be prepared for this. My colleges reputation is not that great because other city students come too. So for about teaching it's average

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course is recommended for the students who want to pursue a career in the finance field or if someone who is looking to a course like CFA, this bachelors degree becomes handy. This course teaches you about the financial spectrum of the whole world and gives you an intricate understanding about different financial instruments and their relevance in the society. It teaches one of the most sought after skills in today's world, that is financial literacy. Still I think some of the subjects introduced under the NEP are completely irrelevant such as EVS and IKS. We as college students need to give quality time on some professional subjects, not that these subjects are not important but they need to be emphasised in the early classes. There are three internal exams of 10 marks each and 20 minutes for each paper. The end sem exam is of 30 marks for minor subjects and 60 marks for major subjects. Also I feel that the difficulty level is okay.
