Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is based as per the D.G . Shipping Norms . The Engineering courses are good and are far above the standard . Ample opportunities are given to the students to enhance themselves and for their optimal development.
Internships Opportunities
I guess in the courses of BBA or the commercial courses there are internship provided . As far as our course is concerned , internships are not provided to us .
Placement Experience
The Placement opportunities in our college is excellent . Cadets are offered placements in the first year itself . Kings of maritime industry such as Maersk line , Chevron , Shell , Good wood Ship management are amongst the companies that visit the campus for placements . In the 3rd month from the commencement of the course , 13 cadets from B.Sc Nautical Science got placed into Good wood Ship management .
College Events
Culturals are organised every year . We don't have freshers for our department . But the applets were given to us in the applets ceremony which is the symbol of us being a cadet. Beside Onam was celebrated , Dusshera and Diwali holidays were given to us. Fest was organised by the mechanical engineering department recently .
Fee Structure And Facilities
For Be Marine Engineering we got a fee structure of 13.45 lakhs INR for four years together . It rounds to 3.45 lakhs INR per year . This would be including the hostel and food costs and all the costs except the Examination fee. Though the course is slight expensive but it is totally worth it .
Fees and Financial Aid
A bonafide is provided quoting that we are students of the university for the students who want to avail loan from different banks . Scholarships are offered to the students from farmer or the fisherman background . Loan facility itself from the college is not provided anyway .
Exam Structure
CAT exams are conducted to ensure the better performance of the students . In a semester two CAT exams are conducted , followed by Model exams which is like pre-Sem Exam followed by the End Sem Examination . Well furnished labs are there in the university and we are frequently taken to the lab and the workshop , Forget being tired , Instead it is good to learn new things .
