Remarks
The admission process was merit-based. After the declaration of ISC results, you have to fill in the application form (check the website regularly). A merit list is published and you are called for counseling. If you don't make it through the first counseling, 2-3 more rounds are conducted depending on the availability of the seats. The admission criteria for Economics (hons) is 60% in aggregate and 60% in maths.
Course Curriculum Overview
Gokhale is very famous for Economics, mainly because of the faculty. The student-teacher ratio is very efficient. The faculty is very well qualified and do an excellent job is helping students, not only academically but also outside of it. The exams were conducted by Calcutta university every 6 months. Colleges conducted the internal and tutorial exams. The difficulty level is no that high provided you follow your lectures sincerely.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is very affordable. For Hons courses, it is mostly around 13k-14k pa. The courses with practical maybe a bit higher. Special courses like Clinical, Nutritions and Communicative courses are also present with fee ranging from 20-22k pa. Special scholarships are present for students with financial problems The college doesn't provide any jobs.
Campus Life
The college conducts an annual function every year in the month of September. And there are cultural events throughout the Year. The library is well equipped with books and facilities of photocopying notes and books. The college holds an annual sports meet in the winter. Cultural clubs and Social clubs conduct events throughout the year.
