Remarks
Through NEET 2019 I took admission to Bankura Sammilani Medical College. It is a reputed college in West Bengal. I belong to the SC category. The age criteria are the same as per NEET guidelines. To speak about cutoff it varies every year. I took admission with 410 marks but this margin keeps increasing. For the general category, the cutoff mark for our college was 530. The counseling body is wbmcc. After online registration, verification, and choice filling candidates are allotted college as per their AIR. Then students have to attend the college round verification and admission. I took admission on 2nd August 2019.
Course Curriculum Overview
MBBS is one of the most desired courses and I always wanted to be a doctor. Our faculty is very good. They take regular classes and make the difficult topics easy to understand. Faculty: student ratio is 1:30 All are doctors obviously and teaching is very smooth. Practical classes are also very interesting. Tests are taken regularly. As MBBS is a difficult course and tough to score with the teaching of our teachers, we can make it.
Internships Opportunities
All students have to serve there as an intern for a year for a stipend of 28900/month They have postings in various departments in the hospital. They gain experience from there and also server the patients.
Fees and Financial Aid
As it's a Government college, the fees are very minimal. Yearly fees are around 9000 and hostel fee is 12 per month. Some govt scholarships are also given to students who belong to economically weaker backgrounds. During the internship, a stipend of 28900 is given to students.
Campus Life
SYNAPSE is our annual fest and generally, it's conducted in September. Our college has a great library which is bigger than most other medical colleges. Plenty of books and journals are available there. Classrooms are large and air-conditioned. Various programs and extracurricular activities are also held on the campus. All batches have their own cultural team and they all are very special.
Hostel Facilities
Rooms are equipped with fans and lights. One can use other electric devices there. Foods are provided from the hostel Canteen. Hostel registration is hassle-free and very much affordable for a student. The local people respect doctors and medical students. So if anyone takes a rented room or PG it's quite safe.
