I attended IIT-JEE-2010 and scored AIR 5065, I also Attended AIEEE-2010 and scored AIR 4725 and state(M.P.) Rank 308. Qualified PET(M.P. State Engineering) with 171 rank . but Joined CSE at Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad because ISM being one of the premier institute of country with record of serving nation since 1926, made me opt fr ISM.

Course curriculum is well designed in accordance with directives of All India Technical Council. Curriculum has core subjects with in depth knowledge such as Electronics, Data Structure and Algorithm, Operating system and Networking with a special emphasis on practicals and language learning needed for IT industry. Curriculum so designed laid foundation of computer engineering if you study well.

Summer Internship generally in 2nd and 3rd year are provided for research work in various department such as Mining, CSE, Mechanical, Petroleum. Internship last from 42 days to 2 months under guidance of any of the professor with relevant field.

ISM previously famous for earth science branches such as petroleum, mining, environment has now emerged as one of premier institute of country in technical fields as well. Companies which are regular visitor of campus are ONGC, Cairn India, Shell, schlumberger, CIL(One of largest recruiter of institute, every year around 100 students with package of 10+)-all 12+ package.

MCM scholarship for all those whose parents earning is less than 2.5 lakh per annum. Top 3 students in every branch are provided with annual scholarship. Several companies such as ONGC, TATA STEEL, IOCL, CIL and other offer varieties of scholarships for students based on different criterias. All central government scholarships(if any) are also applied to all students.

Two semester Per year with one mid test in every semester before final exams. Exam structure is no rigid and there is enough time to get involved in extra curricular without worrying about academics. So far there is absolute percentage system but talks are on for relative system. For those opting for MS studies, institute provide relative mark sheet also(if needed) so to help students getting good colleges outside country.

IIT(ISM),Dhanbad is ranked on the top most colleges for having being almost all faculties as PhD holders, so that's the great thing about this institute. There are some of the faculties whose algorithms and books are used globally. CSE department is specially a fortunate one to have faculties with 15-20 years of experience in the field.
