- BIT Mesra Ranchi has some of the most incredible things at the campus which others probably don't.
- Labs have been modernized last year and even our chemical labs have that many substances and testing materials that others doesn't.
- Campus is among one of the biggest and probably the largest in Jharkhand for sure.
Dislikes
- Sone students have less civics sense and do litter inside the campus and still no action is taken on them.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as IT was mh first choice but then I missed that during the counselling and I would have got any other but our of others Chemical Engineering was the one which fascinated me. I think a couple of more labs are required as in one session accomodating the entire batch becomes difficult.
Placement Experience
From second semester we are taken for an hour session for special training. It is optional till 4th semester but from 5th semester onwards, it becomes mandatory and we have no choice but to go through that hammer. Finally, from the last year's 1st semester companies starts coming and we can apply for the same and that is how placements are done here.
Fees and Financial Aid
BIT Mesra Ranchi is among the best engineering college in Jharkhand. Also, we have students from many states and cities of India and because it has limited seats and high demand the fees is obviously high. The fees for a year is 4.8 lakhs and total engineering tuition fees will be around 20 lakhs.
Campus Life
Campus is large and like very very large indeed. Sports category you name a sport and we have that facility as the management has taken care that every student should feel inclusive. Not just that we have multiple libraries, kiosks and all inside the campus. Our annual fest which is a three day love affair called Bitotsav begings in March around Holiday, and every student ensures their presence during then.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are many and 1 to 16 is how they are marked as. I am in hostel number 8 and it is 250 seater hostel where there are 110 rooms as some rooms are three seater and some are two. Registration is done along with admission and mess fees is also included in 1.8 lakhs that we pay early as hostel fees.
Admission
I had confirmed addmission from many top colleges like Christ University in Bangalore and SRM in Chennai but my criteria was certain. If I was getting BITS then it will be my first choice as in BITSAT I knew I won't be getting the Pilani one. So, BITSAT is how you get admissions and that is how I also got admission here.
Faculty
Ratio is divided at fair valuation because faculties need is in number when such a large college is runned. So, we have over 100 faculties and we also have around 2000 engineering students too. Exams are tough here as Chemical Engineering is indeed one of the toughest because we have more practical subjects than theory. Hence, the passing percentage of students without a back in single subject is 60% or so.
Night Life
Our campus is picturesque and nearby areas too. Patratu Valley is one such place and it's like heaven for us. For Coffee it's Capital Cakes & Cafe and CCD outlet too. When it comes to cafe where I go the most, it's Cafe Yum Yum.
