IIITT - Unlimited opportunities

The college is mentored by NIT Trichy, the number one NIT in India. We shared the same campus and facilities and even faculties. It was easy to get CSE for my branch which isn't the case with NITs and other well established IIITs. I got the college in my second round but I got ECE. This went on till the seventh round. Finally, in the special round, I got CSE. The admission takes place via Josaa and we are required to get our documents checked after the first round at the nearest NIT and again at the 7th round to book the college before moving onto the special round. Please read the requirements carefully (I forgot to get the stamp paper signed by a lawyer as mentioned in the rules for entering special round). The curriculum was same as NIT Trichy till the year 2021. Now, its revised and its become truly student and industry friendly. The faculties were from NIT and now that we have our own director and campus, new faculties with excellent experience are hired to teach the students. The examinations are conducted by the profs and they are medium difficulty. The college adapts relative grading and getting good GPAs are competitive than other private colleges.

We are mandated to do an internship after 3rd year. Various companies contact the college providing various roles for internships. I am currently working at Crimson Interactive which I procured off campus. Students bag internships like GSoC and other prestigious internships off campus. Professors also give research internships to the students to work on projects and publish papers.

The students of 4th year are eligible for the placements and the students of 3rd year are required to do a mandatory internship. Various codathons and talks are conducted to educate the students for preparing for the interviews. Geeks for Geeks partners with the college and provides free resources for the students. I plan to work for 2 years and then pursue MS in Data Science.

It costs 88,000 tution fees and 37,000 hostel fees per sem for General and OBC and 8,000 tution fees and 37,000 hostel fees per sem for SC/ST. Once the new campus is reopened there might be jobs like RAs and all to help the students.

Being a new and small college, you have tons of opportunities. The college opens at its new campus from the year 2021 and its built with high class infrastructure and the girls hostel built by Infosys. The college encourages all sports and other activities. There are many clubs http://www.iiitt.ac.in/clubs refer to know more. And all functioning well. Students are welcome to join any of the clubs and learn. The college also sends the students to inter IIIT competitions in sports and other activities. A program called EBSB or ek Bharath shresht Bharath encourages student exchange between IIITs to learn the culture of different states.

Till now, the hostel at NIT Trichy was amazing with excellent food. Once the college gets shifted to its campus, the hostels will be new and are expected to be well. The hostel costs 37k including stay and food per semester. Hospital and medicine will be free.
