Course Curriculum Overview

4

I feel the course curriculum is good and somewhat relavent, thats why I choose this course in first place. It give me exposure in both theory and some practicle areas, but still I feel more real world application and industry base example should be added. Exams are little frequent sometime and timing also feel rush, difficulty is fine but need more balance. Teaching method can be more interactive, not only slide based. Overall it prepare me but improvment needed.

Internships Opportunities

4

Our college provide decent internship opportunities from 3rd year onwards through training and placement cell. Many companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Zoho and few core firms come for summer internships. Roles are usually software developer intern, testing, data analyst and in core side like design or production trainee. Stipend varies between 8k–20k per month depending on company. I also got chance to do internship at NIT Trichy, where I worked on a project related to automation system. The task include coding, testing and documentation, final outcome was working prototype which improved process efficiency. This internship gave me real exposure to research environment and hands-on skill, very useful for future jobs.

Placement Experience

4

In my college placement start from 7th semester, students get eligible to sit in drives. Many companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro and some core firms visited and gave good no of offers. Highest package was around 10 LPA and average near 4.5 LPA depending on profile, mostly software dev, testing and few core engineer role. Around 70% students got placed last year, rest go for higher studies or other prep. My plan after finishing degree is to first try campus offer then aim for higher studies if I not satisfied. Overall placement is decent but still more core companies should come.

Fees and Financial Aid

For B.Tech Mechanical it is 1lakh tution fee per year, 10k miscellaneous fee per year and one time admission fee 10k so for first year it is 120000 and rest of the years it is 110000 per year.and hostel and mess fee is based on the type of room u choose it has basically 4 and 5 beds rooms with attached and non attached bathroom also the ac facility also Available with or without for mycase it is 80000. I choosed non ac non attached 5 beds and the most expensive room is with ac attached 4 beded rooms costs 1.4 lakhs per annum I got scholarship as 50% which is 12 marks merit based based on my department it is 80% on PCM they give 50% scholarship, 70% it is 35% scholarship. And it is changeable based on department

Campus Life

4

My campus life overall is good mix of study and social side. We have annual fest in March and tech fest in September where students get chance to show talent and learn new things. Library is decent with wide range of books and journals, though sometime latest editions are missing. Classrooms have projector, wifi and smart board in few blocks, which make learning easier. Sports ground for cricket, football, badminton and indoor games are available, and lot of students take part. There are also clubs like coding club, cultural club and social service group, which really help in improving skills and building network with friends. So the frieds are form different language here many are tamil , telugu, malayalam and hindi so the language barriers are may happen initially but u can adjust and adapt and can learn for them their language

Hostel Facilities

4

In my college hostel, the facility is mostly 4 and 5 sharing rooms, so you have to adjust with batchmates but it also create bonding. Some rooms have attached bathroom, while others have common washroom on each floor. AC rooms are available but very limited and with higher fee, most of us stay in non-AC rooms which are more affordable. Each room is given with bed, chair, table and cupboard for every student, though sometimes furniture is bit old. Food in mess is average, menu keep repeating, still basic meals like rice, dal, sabji, chapati are served and healthy enough. On some days food taste better, on some days we just eat outside. Hostel registration process is simple, just fill form and pay fees during admission, allotment is first come first serve basis. Cost is reasonable compared to PG outside, where rent is higher and food extra. Few of my friends stay in PG near campus, locality is safe with shops, mess and cafes but overall hostel is more affordable and better connected with college life.

Admission

I choose this college because compare to other colleges I applied, here the curriculum and faculty felt more relavent for my future goals. I also applied in 2 other colleges but either cutoff was too high or I miss in interview stage, so couldn’t get seat. Admission process here was simple, they accept main entrance exam score and merit list, eligibility was 12th pass with required 80% in PCM. Cutoff was decent compare to top colleges, so I got chance. The overall process was smooth, not so much confusing like other places. I felt this college give better balance of academics, placement and fees, so I selected here finally.

Faculty

4

Over department has about 20 students per faculty ratio and over has many directorate faculty almost 90% got directorate holders The faculty are nice and good if u are native language u are comfortable with them I like many faculties expecilly Dr.Adam khan, Dr Rajesh, Dr Ebinizer etc I also have faculty no liked goswami, dinakaran, mohan etc There basically 3 exams per semester two are sessional 1 and 2 they are for 50 marks exam it contains 17.5 % of each which come final marks and end semester for 100 marks which contains 50% and remaining are mid, end sem practicals so the curriculum is easy and good c U can pass easilyand can score a good gpa easily because we have relative grading method for gpa calculation

Night Life

4

Night life in my college is not very fancy like big city but still we enjoy. Hostel entry time is 9.30 pm and main gate also close after that, so students have to come before. Gym and library close by 7 and cafeteria mostly by 8, after that we just sit in hostel common hall or terrace for talk and fun. Inside campus fav spot is canteen lawn, outside we go tea shop or small cafe near gate. Locality is safe till around 10 night, so walking or snacks trip is fine. These late night hangout make good memory and reduce stress.

Placement Experience:

Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester (final year). Only a limited number of companies visit the campus. The common recruiters are mostly mass hiring IT service companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, Accenture, and a few local startups. Core companies rarely visit the campus. Very few students get placed directly on campus. For example, in my batch, less than 25–30% of students received offers, and most of them were in IT support roles rather than core engineering jobs. Salary Packages –Highest Package: Around 4.5 – 5 LPA, offered by a software company. Average Package: Around 2.5 – 3 L

The study is average in this college. At first before coming to the college the i was really excited to learn about the hot topics that are trending now a days, i must say that i had a lot of expectations from the college but sooner or later I understood that the college does not have the curriculum that supports my excitement so I think course that i choose for does not meet my excitement.
