Remarks

Structural engineering is the most preferable branch for any civil engineering graduates to pursu career in design field. By taking this branch we have two career options either we can move in private sector or professor (Ph.D) line.

Course Curriculum Overview

Being a civil engineering graduate I was interested in structures so I opted for Structural engineering. In IIT mandi facilities are young but very dedicated and highly qualified. They want you to learn thing, they try their best for making stronger base for their students. Student strength is approximately 1500 with good girl:boy ratio. There will be 2 minor exam and 1 major exam. Regular assignment every week and atleast 1 project. Evaluation is flexible and highly dependent on faculties and student interaction. If one do regular study and assignment by there own exam become easier. If you don't study regular you will lag behind results in lower CGPA. In IIT one good point is they do relative marking so if you study regular you can score a very good CGPA.

For IT branches placements are good but for core branches number of company, coming in the campus are less. If we have skills we can take job anywhere. After M.Tech we can apply for Ph.D interviews but for that you should have good CGPA atleast above 8

Campus Life

Campus is situation in the remote area i.e away from the city crowd. Environment is very good. It's is best place for student who wants to explore mountain and enjoy the nature at its best. Campus is very beautiful and weather too. There are many clubs hiking and treaking club, dance club, music club, cultural club, robotics and individual club of different branches. Infrastructure is very good because buildings are newly constructed. Full facility of hot and cold water,good washrooms and good rooms.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel fees we don't have to pay separately it is included in overall fees and It is approximately Rs. 2600. You can check fees details in campus website also. Hostel meals are balanced according to proper diet of the students. On special days we have special dinner in mess. Sprouts and milk is included in every day diet and many more

the following is the bare bones of accommodations in HPNLU lavery centre HPNLU placements and carrer prospects :-the HPNLU students are usually allowed to have campus placements staring in the 9th semester .the placement cell is only quite young ,and thus developing at NLU . Boutique law firms and companies such as link legal and lakshmikumaran and sridharan also conduct top recruiting , and a few of the students also conduct top recruiting ,and a few of the students also get the PPO,s after the internship . packages the largest packages are normally between 10-12 LPA,with an average package of between 6-7 LPA placement percentage approximately 40-50 % of students seeking corporate jobs end up being placed off campus . plans after degree :on a personal note ,i will be exploring the world of litigation or the courts ,as the degree offerings provided by the university provide a good base in regards to competitive tests .

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

I chose this course because I liked horticulture .This course is very well applied in real world in cultivation and growing of vegetables, fruits and flowers and horticulture also has job opportunities in private sector. IIT Mandi- my home and karmbhoomi

Honestly I initially thought of branch change and college in some what cold place which led me to this college. Our college is moderate in comparison to other iits, obviously you cant compare it with old iits , but yeah its decent enough, having good students and friends. Placement of four college is better than other iits. Some years result in placement ogf good no. of students whereas some leads to okish. The sport facilities are ok. Swimming pool is not of olympic size and it requires lot of time for repair of the sport equipments. Admission process is through Jossa counselling after JEE Advanced. I applied for VIT, NIT BHOPAL, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Jammu, IIT BHU, IIT Ropar, NIT Durgapur, and many of the IITS and NITS. I choose only this so, didn't fill for confirmation for others. IIT MANDI KE ANSUNE KISSE

The admission process at IITs are generally common through a cmon entrance exam all over India named jee mains for nits and then after qualifying in that we need to score good in jee advanced. There are reservations for sc, st, obc and economically backward classes. Like you can get good branches with lower marks. For example in computer science you can get 6000 rank for obc but around 2000 for general candidates....Read More
