Entrance Preview
All india national entrance Exam conducted by pondicherry university I qualified. my rank was 29th in merit. the centre for bioinformatics at pondicherry university is recognised as centre of excellence by DBT, government of india. All the required facilities and infrastructure is available. All the faculties are simply best.
Internships Opportunities
No internship came as such being a doctoral course. But for PG students many companies came., such as Biogene, Biocon, TCS, Wipro, Schrodinger etc. Truly speaking I am not aware of this but average package the people got is around 5-6 Lack per annum.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee is very negligible as university is funded by central government. Per annum fees will be around 20000/- for hostels fee will be 2000 per year and mess 1800 per month for ladies mess and hostel fee is zero. And for physically challenged people everything is free.
Fees and Financial Aid
All the fellowship sponsored by government of india and state governments can be availed in the university. UGC sponsored fellowships could be availed. I got UGC RGNF fellowship for 5 years.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is about 50:50 (Male: Female) politically the university is isolated not much disturbed, university has rich student diversity student from Kashmir to Kanyakumari stay and enjoy campus life together. Sexual orientation is normal. economically people wil come from middle class to higher class.
Admission
I applied for entrance exam, for various departments such as Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology etc. In other department my rank was lower. Fortunately I got admission to bioinformatics department which is the best in India. After result of entrance, they called for interview.
Faculty
Being a central University, All the faculties are well experienced and very active, talent. They are continuously working to get new projects from the DBT, DST, SERB etc. even few faculty have ICMR projects. they have great interest in teaching as well. All the faculty keep themselves updated with the latest happenings in their subjects.
