IIIT Pune and what it's like to be here

It's an up & coming institute, and is very close to the industrial hub. Pune is a developing technological centre of the country with great weather all year round. The fee was affordable too, and the hostel was clean and well set-up.

The course curriculum is interesting without being over bearing. A continuous focus and deication is required to master any of the subjects. More importance is given to practical knowledge. Most of the faculty are trained professionals.

Placement and Internship opportunities are offered to all students that clear the CGPA criteria set by the respective companies. A number of reputed technical, financial and other companies have come for recruitment. Recently, the highest package offered was 36 LPA, with the average package being 12 LPA.

Campus jobs aren't available as of now, given that the college is currently in a temporary campus. The fee is affordable for most middle class households but may be higher as compared to other institutes of National importance. State scholarships are available to the students.

I-Conclave is the annual fest of IIITP, where events vary between both technical and non-technical spheres. There are a number of non-technical clubs run independently by the students. There's a Literary Club (Eclectic), a Quiz Club (Q-Riocity), a Drama Club (Abhinay), a Music Club (Saaz) to name a few. Coding (Bit-Legion) and Robotics (Rofies) clubs are also present. There's a Cricket ground, a badminton court and a football field. A sports fest by the name of Eklavya is conducted annually. A Table Tennis table is present in the hostels itself. All sports equipment is available at all times.

Hostels are recently constructed with spacious rooms with separate bathrooms. There are multiple floors allotted to each Year, given the relatively smaller strength of students. Female students have a separate accomodation just outside the campus with a college bus readily available as transport. Hostel fee is high but affordable. There are 2 Messes outside the hostels and students can choose either. A number of other utility shops are also present.
