Abhilash Jain's Review On The National Institute Of Engineering - [NIE], Mysore

Common Entrance Test (CET). I had heard that NIE is the most reputed college in Karnataka that too it is very much good for civil engineering course. So I didn't made a second thought when I could see that there is a seat at NIE Mysore during the CET Counselling.

The course curriculum was very very great. The lecturers were superb. The teaching faculty and the non teaching faculty as well were very co operative. We never faced any problems during our entire 4 years of our education. And the infrastructure they have is very good. Though it is a very old college, it has all the facilities for students.

No. I got a government merit seat where in we were offered the seat at a very nominal fees. Overall, the fee which we paid is really worth for the facilities and the education we got in turn from the college.

Placement activities were very good. Our Placement committee worked very hard in getting all the students a job in hand before we completed our course. So we are thankful to the college management as well as the professors who helped us in getting the companies for campus placements.

We were having a college fest every year by name TECHNIEKS. Where the college used to allow the students to show their talent. Apart from that even the Civil Engineering department used to organise inter college fest for civil engineering students where we met students of other colleges as well and we had a great time.

Actually they used to give scholarship to the top 3 students for all the semesters. But unfortunately, I could never get it.

The campus was really very nice. It is full of greenery. Though it is a very old college, it has all the facilities for students. I never heard about ragging in the college premises. So we were all very happy with our seniors and juniors. We had same number of gender ratio.

I am not aware of this as I was at home with parents. But I used to visit the hostel every now and then to meet our friends at hostel. It was really very clean and the facilities provided were also very good. And main thing is the hostel was very near to the college.

We had semester exams for every 6 months. and laboratory were there in all the semesters with all kind of apparatus and testing equipments. We got a very good exposure through the lab experiments. Also we were given the practical experiments of different live projects.

I wrote CET exam and I got a ranking and I was called for the selection process on a particular date at the CET Cell. Where in we were given the updates through the network and when I went to select the seat I selected NIE Civil Engineering. And after that as usual I went to the college for admission procedure as per the college formalities.
