Remarks

The admission process was hassel free. First you have to make the payment through Net banking, UPI, NEFT anything that is favourable for you. Then the university portal allows you to upload all your documents like marksheet of previously attended college, college leaving certificate, migration certificate and caste certificate/ ews certificate if you are belonging from any such category. If you lack migration or the college leaving certificate you can upload it in the later part as they gives you an extension of 30 days. The selection process is done through the cut offs that is set for the different subjects. As I was pursuing my masters in Sociology the cut offs for ST was 65.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The subject that I chose was Sociology. The reason why I chose this course because that help me to stick to the society well. I can collectively relate with the society and change the evil practices continuing with it. Courses that is being offered under it were Research Methodology, Social stratification, sociological thinkers and polity and society. The class ratio was some what 60-40. 60% are female and 40% are male. As we are in a digital divide, the professors tried their best to communicate with us in every way. The quality of education that JNU provides is top notch. The term exams were not that tough if you keep an everyday touch with your classes and lectures.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is quite affordable as JNU is a government institutions the fees were kept minimal so that everyone can afford it. Talking about the scholarships, they provide the MCM which is the Merit Cum Means scholarship, the students whose parents income is below 250000 per annum can apply it. They provide it in a monthly basis. The amount is somewhat 800 pm for day scholars and 2000 pm for hostellers.

Campus Life

5

Life in JNU campus is like what everyone once dreamt of. Different fest takes place at different hostels every month. Which help students to build connection with each other and help them to explore different cultures. JNU's library is known for its collection of wisdom. You name and they have it. There are many social group which are being led by the students such as JNU photography club, Dance club and so many. The classrooms are well ventilated and they provide you an environment where you can focus on your academics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have always held that the training I recieved during my masters programme prepared the grounds for my future development. The teaching pedagogy was centres around participation and a two way dialogue. I am not in the capacity to be suggesting improvements in curriculum as my stint in the university was almost perfect- more than I could have ever asked for.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well designed by the renowned professors and faculty members from different universities in India and from abroad as well. The content was choosen keeping in mind to cover all the aspects of the specific subject for a pg student. As I mentioned before, the quality of study material was very good and helpful and very enough. But the pg thesis is missing from our course, due to which we were not able to do a research project. It appears to me after the completion of my first year that we can do our research under our given faculty but it wasn't mentioned in the course structure as it is mainly upto our faculties.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For the course i must say that this is something everyone needs to study about even if it's for just a part. We have ethics, moral, cultural relativism and etc. In our syllabus and it all really help to make our thinking rational, to see World from that point of view from where one can see the clarity. It's really necessary for improvement in personality and making good decision. I think there's need for making this course more practical like teaching, we can teach students about essentials of philosophy for there betterment of decision making from an early age.
