Remarks

I applied to colleges like Venkateshwar College and Atmaram Sanathandharma College but the cut-off was high at that time. I did not choose any quota for admission. The minimum percentage which was required to take the admission was 85% in political science Hons. for General category. In the admission process, the documents are being submitted in the admission office which includes marksheet of class 10th and 12th, Id proof, and address proof. Then they provide documents which they told to make their signature by the respective teacher and authority. After that, they give the enrolment slip and ask to pay the fee through an online portal. After completing the whole process, the college issued the identity card for the student. No there was not a counseling session for the students of political science department

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

From my 11th standard, I had an interest in studying politics, about how India got their independence There were 2 sections of political science Hons. Section A and Section B. There were around 100 students including both sections and the ratio is about 1:4. The teachers were very good and explain all the things in a conceptual and short way which was quite impressive. I was very satisfied by the teaching method There were 2 exams in a year and a total of 6 exams in the whole course which includes 6 semester and one exam for each semester. For the students who do not have a basic knowledge of politics sometimes found it difficult to even pass out the exams but the questions that were asked are very much relevant and thorough to shape the students in the near future and from their career perspectives

Internships Opportunities

4

The companies like WIPRO, Tech Mahindra, Apollo Munich, Airtel also offered many internships during our whole course. The roles were also varied from the position of Customer executive to Tele marketing executive. This marks the great opportunity for all the students to gain experience , nurture their skills and to excell in their lives. The companies like Patanjali also Offered various projects and internships for the interested student to come up and show their skills and talent.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for our course was around 50k which was for 3 years. Annually we have to pay the fee which was around 16-17k which include the course fee and exam fee. The submission of fee was through online portal through indian overseas Bank (IOB) . The exam fee was being submitted through the same procedure. I did not get any scholarship as such but one of my friend got the financial assistance and scholarship from one of the company

Campus Life

4

The annual fest was conducted in the month of February and march mostly. The fresher's party was also conducted to welcome all the new students to the colleges and to boost their confidence and enthusiasm. There was a huge library in our college which was air-conditioned. Many newspapers like The Hindu, The Economic Times, The Times of India were available nd many magazines also can help in the competitive exams. My hobby is playing cricket that's why I took part in our college cricket team to play inter-college tournament and also took part in the tennis ball tournament conducted by our political science department. The social groups for organized for saving trees by our department and I also took part in it and we paste many slogans and posters all over the colleges to aware the students and the other staff to protect our nature

Course Curriculum Overview:

It DU, so i think for many students it comes down to if you are able to make it to cutt off list. So my decision was based on it. I cleared the cutt off list for english hons so i took it. I wanted to make my way for govt job, so it was all about getting a degree regardless of what subject i was getting. I think curriculum just make you educated enough to get to know but its the college life that make you come face to face with the real world. exams every 6 months i.e every semester i think its good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really like Human Geography which let me to opt for this paper. Besides theory papers, we also have practical papers every semester through which we conduct surveys, interviews, research which helps us in preparing for the real world applications as well as further academic pursuits if we want to go in the field of Remote sensing or GIS. I feel that for papers including research or management, we should be showcasing how we can mitigate them or adapt in such scenarios and also make drafts for writing a research for further pursuits. However, as the time is limited it is quite understandable as to why its not conducted. We have two exams in a year and they are quite relevant and easy
