Mayank Bhatt's Review On Lovely Professional University - [LPU], Jalandhar

I took UPTU state entrance examination and got admission based on my good ranking in state entrance exam. I opted this university because I wanted an overall development of myself in terms of academics as well as exposure to every possible stuff i could get.

LPU strictly follows AIEEE colleges pattern as their curriculum for all engineering courses. Curriculum is designed giving equal importance to theories and practical's. We had theory lectures, tutorial sessions for doubt clearing and lab for 3-4 hours 3 times in a week.

Yes the university provides internship opportunities but only to brilliant students that have an overall 8 CGPA till 6th semester. General stipend varies from 8k to 15k but that too depends on company to company. Student can opt between internship during 7th semester or general academics.

Placements are average as there are a lot of competitions from your classmates and others. Companies that visited during my time were CTS(mass recruiter usually it hires around 400-500 students throughout engineering branches), AMDOCS, Idea, Ericsson, HCL etc. Average package of companies is 3LPA with many other benefits.

Fee structure according to me is feasible as a lot of facilities are being provided to us. But in all it depends on people to people but to be unbiased anyone can afford it to study there and get a lot exposure. Fee per semester is 60-70k and one can get scholarship of 20-40k based on their scores in 12th grade exams or entrance exams. Hostel fees during my time was 30k for 2 sharing room including food. and laundry for a year.

Loan facilities can be availed from plenty of choices of banks that university allows. I have taken loan from SBI. Scholarships and fee waiver is present if you had excelled in your academics in class 12th above 80% for good scholarship or you have scored very well in some engineering entrance exams.

Exams are twice in a semester and are termed as mid term examination and end term examination. There are assignments, class tests, quiz and project and cumulative score of all gets you clear in a that semester. Lab exams are separate and act as standalone subjects.

I got admission through state level entrance examination( UPTU) where my rank was good. Moreover I had to give their entrance test too (LPU NEST) for getting scholarship. Administration is quite helpful. They help you going through all the formalities and moreover i was showed classrooms and labs before taking admission.

Going to the faculty of the university, faculty is average but qualified and are interested in teaching. Faculties are not only given subjects that they have good command but also some other subjects where they may take help of other faculties for getting good knowledge and sharing good information with students. Overall they provide good growth in terms of knowledge for their faculty too.
