Entrance Preview

JEE, i chose this course because it is a totally different course. Also because my college offers 6 month internship in 5th and 7th semester which is compulsory, as under the sandwich patter and production is an autonomous branch.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is very similar to mechanical branch of engineering. All the core subjects are same as that of mechanical engineering. The only difference is that we also have a couple of subjects from management studies in later years. We also have 6 months internship in 5th and 7th semester respectively.

Internships Opportunities

Yes our college offers internship to only 2 departments, production sandwich and mechanical sandwich. 1 semester in 3rd year and 1 semester in 4th year. Stipend is decided by the company that trained or hires the interns and it is compulsory for every student in the following 2 branches.

Placement Experience

Placement is not really good for production kids, as not a lot of companies are looking for production engineers. But yes, for other branches it is good. Companies like tcs, thermax, volkswagon.

College Events

Our college has a variety of technical, cultural and management events, mainly all the events are managed by the students, or the general secretary of the college. Technical event such as ENGINEERING TODAY is celebrated every year which starts on world engineering day and is continued for 3 day. Sports events like Shahu Trophy is conducted by our college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is like any other engineering college these days. General cast the fees is 1lakh 10 thousand a year. Which is not at all feasible, but is lower than a lot of colleges that i know of, if we compare it to colleges like VIT our fees is almost half of what we would have to pay if we were in those colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college does not provide any such scholarship or loan but yes college does give us the liberty of partial payment. This means we do not have to may the complete fee at once we can make the payment in parts for that we have to give the college.

Campus Life

Campus is preety big and all groups gave their favourite spots on the campus and outside of the campus where the meet and hang out like we a huge aeroplane in the campus, students call it the airport this is the common meeting point on the campus and also the sports ground.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is the same as all colleges under pune university. But not got me, our department is autonomous so we have a slight change in the exam pattern, we have practicals every day, some days we have 2 practicals in a day.

placements start in 7th - 8th semester . Companies like wipro cisco and TCs etc visit. Average package is 4-5 LPA , and highest I could say 9 to 10 LPA .. my plans would be- if not got high paying job on campus I will try off campus too..

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

SIT is best engineering college of Pune!!

Placement Experience:

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. Admission: I had also applied for top colleges of Pune with tech related branches but the main reason I can't get their is due to high cutoff of colleges I had applied for top colleges like VIT Pune,PCCOE Pune ,PICT Pune ,D.Y.Patil Pune etc and through cap process depending on my percentile I get my current college AISSMS IOIT Pune and I confirmed for these I sorted the colleges depending on some parameter like last year cutoff, placement percentage, autonomous or not etc My college is in Maharashtra so around 80% of seats given to the students who are admitted through Maharashtra state entrance exam for engineering that is MHTCET and remaining 20% are seat are for candidates who admitted through JEE MAIN score so most students peffered MHTCET Exam for admission in our college The overall addmission process is like after declaration of result student make list of colleges and branches those he want to take that list is in a sequential manner then student had to upload that list on portal of MHTCET after 2-3 day result of that list comes and the college which is allocated seen to us then it depend on us that we want to confirm that college and branch or go for next round total 3 rounds are take place in that process and after confirmation of college reporting has been done offline to the college for final addmission process...Read More

Reviewing the journey up till now !!

I gave several exams and cracked them , but due to some or the other factor , I couldn't choose any other college. Due the ongoing CBSE boards, I couldn't register for MHTCET which is apparently a state exam for MAHARASHTRA . You can opt for different colleges in MAHARASHTRA after giving this exam.
