Remarks
Admission process was quite lengthy. We have to fill our admission forms on our own in the computer system provided in the college. It took around 3-4 hours in the admission process. I availed Sikh Minority quota for which minimum marks required was less as compared to the general category. For the general category, it was around 92% and for Sikh Minority it was around 82% so it was quite low. I didn't attend the counseling session as I got admission in the 4th cut off and the counseling session was after 3rd cut off only.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am a b.com program student. To be honest I wanted to take b.com honors as my course but Maths is required for a student to take b.com honors in our college that's why I took b.com program. As I was a commerce student in 11th and 12th and I have interest in commerce background so I finally took b.com program. Some teachers/professors are just amazing. They are thorough with their subjects and teach very well. In online classes also we enjoyed our lessons with some teachers which are quite amazing. They are well qualified. They have deep knowledge about their subjects and they are very helpful. We have 2 assignments, 2 internals and 1 final paper in 1 semester. And so as in the other 5 semesters. The paper are not very difficult . If a student is thorough with their subjects they can easily get good marks.
Internships Opportunities
There are internship opportunities available in my college. Every year Decathlon provides an internship with a stipend of 10,000 for a student who qualifies their interview. But I don't remember much about other companies.
Placement Experience
Only 5-10% students get placed in some good companies. Companies like Tommy Hilfiger, Decathlon comes to our college but only 2-3 students gets selected. Mainly the students of 2nd,3rd semester becomes eligible for campus placements. I don't know much about highest salary package. My plans after getting the b.com program degree is to complete my masters and than PhD from a government college.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of Sri guru nanak dev khalsa college is very affordable. We have paid only18060 in 1st year. And 16060 in 2nd year. And my college has some scholarships too like Sikh Minority scholarship where students belonging to Sikh Minority gets a refund of around 3000-4000 Rs in their bank account. And its has scholarships for thoss students also who can't afford their fees. The students who are below poverty line. If these students apply for this scholarship they get around 5000-7000 amount refunded in their bank account. And for the job , I don't got any job on campus.
Campus Life
The name of the annual fest changes every year. Last year the name was SURLOK. The fests are conducted in the college only. We don't have enough space or ground to conduct a fest that's why permission to other DU students is not granted in our college. We can go to their fest by showing our id cards. But they can't come to our college because of the small space our college has. Despite the small space, we enjoy the fest so much. As famous singers come and sing their songs for the students. We don't easily get the book of our choice in the library. We get old books easily but there are only 10-12 books in the new edition. So those who go first get the new edition book first and rest students if want had to take old edition books which are not of great use. There are many societies in our college like commerce society, dance society, music society, economics society, etc. Students based on their interests can join any society after giving a short interview.
