Remarks
The admission process was structured without any major hiccups. There wasn't any separate counselling session. For the new IIMs, The minimum CAT percentile for getting a call was 95 percentile and above- I received calls for all of them (IIM Ranchi, IIM Trichy, IIM Raipur, IIM Kashipur, IIM Udaipur & IIM Rohtak). The admission process took place in one of the 4 Star Hotels in the city in separate time slots.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course, being a flagship PGP course & one of the best possible opportunities for me to launch my corporate 2.0 and enjoy a welcome break in between corporate life, was a no-brainer. The faculty-student ratio improved during my time from approx 1:9 to somewhere around 1:7.
Internships Opportunities
The Internship opportunities varied from big corporations to growing startups. But, our batch got affected by Covid-19 and several offers were rescinded and got replaced by different offers. The projects were highly dynamic in nature & required the candidates to apply themselves.
Placement Experience
The campus placements start early from the month of August-September. 120+ recruiters visited the campus and 260+ offers were made. The highest & average package we didn't count explicitly but could be somewhere around 28 lakh and 14 lakh is respectively.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees, during my time of joining, was one of the lowest among the new IIMs. There are opportunities for scholarships in the form of financial assistance for the students viz. merit-based scholarships, financial need-based & merit-cum-financial need-based scholarships.
Campus Life
There are a host of fests - our flagship fest being "Agnitraya" held during the month of November. In terms of the library, it is well equipped with all possible books one could ask for. There's no dearth of amenities inside the classrooms. Sports and extracurriculars are also pretty much in tandem on the campus with a host of sports to choose from - Basketball, Volleyball, Frisbee, Cricket & Football to name a few.
Hostel Facilities
The Hostel facility was undoubtedly the best among the new IIMs during our time with single accommodation and attached washrooms. Each floor had a water purifier, refrigerators & microwave oven in the common room. Mess meal was okayish. Hostel registration was mandatory.
Interview Experience
Yes, the admission process involved WAT (Written Ability Test) & Personal Interview. The WAT was based on the recent developments going on where the Interview broadly revolved around what I did, my past experiences and current affairs.
