Remarks
The admission was based on the cut off marks of the students in the 12th examinations and no GD/PI was conducted. The only criteria for selecting a candidate is the marks scored in the examinations. It also has a quota as prescribed by the government.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is very engaging as statistics has wide applicability and especially today when Big data is the basis for technology. Faculty members were knowledgeable but I felt were only exams oriented rather than making students work on various real life projects.
Internships Opportunities
Professors and companies both offer internships in different domains and offer decent stipends. Consulting, Research, Finance and marketing are the main domains. The stipend varies from 10k-50k depending upon the company, work and duration.
Placement Experience
Placements start with the 5th semester in the third year of the course. Various big companies like Bain, BCG, Deshaw and LEK Consulting etc. They offer competitive packages to the students and the college offers 90% placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is very basic- around 15k tuition fees 1-2k lab fees for computers etc, 16-17k was total for one year, The course was for 3 years. It attracts the best companies for placements and internships. Students also get a scholarship if eligible.
Campus Life
Mecca is the annual cultural fest of Hindu College which is the biggest fest in Delhi University. It attracts thousands of crowds and famous artists for the entertainment of the audience along with various competitions. Has a three floored library with good resources. Classrooms are average.
