Remarks
I had a clash between DRC and GGS, but I preferred North Campus (for better exposure than off-campus college). So I took admission in DRC in the last cutoff of BCom Hons i.e 6th list. The cutoff for other better colleges was too high but finally, I got admission to DRC. I took admission during the pandemic time so eventually, we had no offline counselling nor we had a chance to visit our campus. Everything from orientation to admission procedure was conducted online. To take admission in DRC one must score atleast 96% for the BCom Hons course.
Course Curriculum Overview
I always wanted to study BCom Hons. There are around 18 departments in DRC and approx 4000 students. In the 2020 batch, we have 4 sections for BCom Hons. The commerce faculty of the college is really good and professional. The teaching method differs from teacher to teacher but everyone is good at their job. We had our internals conducted online but they were quite easy and OBE was also quite easy keeping in mind the time consideration and writing speed.
Placement Experience
Internships are offered in all 3 years but 1st year they are not paid. 3rd-year students get an opportunity at campus Placement. The companies that come for placement are quite good like Chegg, Wipro, Deloitte. We have a placement cell in our college which provides lots of opportunities to all the students to get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for the BCom Hons course is around 16800 which is quite affordable. The college also provides various scholarship opportunities for needy and deserving students. It also provides financial assistance to reserved category students and to someone who belongs to an economically weaker section.
Campus Life
Although everything thing is online right now our college DRC has a wide variety of societies and clubs, which are really active as well. Almost all sports are played in the college and many tournaments are also organised, both inter as well as intra. There is a huge library too and I have heard it has a good collection of novels too.
