Sister Nivedita University–The college where your dreams become a reality

Sister Nivedita University has so far been one of the best decisions of my life. Since it's a very new college, like everyone else my parents were a bit skeptical about it. I consulted few people who stay nearby SNU and some final year students to gain more knowledge about the college and the thing that attracted me the most is the faculty. Our campus is not very huge but well designed with all the modern amenities that you would expect from a very high-end college. Another very significant thing to notice here in this college is the huge number of choices of subjects they provided, which attracts a lot of students who want to pursue their dream courses. I had also applied for AMITY University but I did not opt for it for the very high fees they were demanding for just 3yr BSc course. The admission procedure of SNU is very simple and completely unbiased. It takes place through an admission test and only the ones securing 70% in that test are eligible for admission.

I opted for Microbiology honors. The reason, why I chose this subject, is the huge opening it provides after graduation. It's not only restricted to research but also includes paths in various Pharma companies and hospitals. The student-teacher ratio is a bit disproportionate but that's due to the fact that due to the lockdown and online classes the two streams– Biotechnology and microbiology classes are taking place side by side. But the Professors being extremely qualified and skilled with exceptional degrees in their respective fields manages the classes extremely well. Regular class tests and mock tests are conducted before the semester exams that we take after six months which round up to two semester exams in a year. In addition to the semester exams, we have mid semesters which we have a month prior to our end semesters. The range of difficulty levels ranges from easy to moderate for the semesters, but due to regular revision in our classes, we are quite well prepared before the tests.

The fees are quite low compared to other private colleges with the same facilities. Fees are around 1.6lacs including backpack, uniform everything. The fees are paid before each semester begins. The admission fees are approximately 50000, which includes the fees for the 1st semester and the uniform. There's a scholarship only for the students performing exceptionally well in the semesters that gives a discount on the tuition fees per semester. It's quite attractive for the students which motivates them to perform better.

Being a very new College the annual fest is yet to start with full fledge. But there are various events taking place all throughout the year like Basanta Utsav etc. The classrooms are equipped with modern amenities and extra emphasis is given to the extracurricular activities to help the students discover their hidden talents.
