Remarks
The admission process for Amity University Kolkata was quite smooth. The candidates were made aware of admission exams and interviews before the date through emails and texts. For the master's program, there are two types of admissions in Amity. The first being non-sponsored and the second being sponsored. The non-sponsored admission requires the candidates to give a test and also sit for an interview. The fees for non-sponsored is also less than sponsored category.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose to study for a Master's in Journalism and Mass Communication from Amity University Kolkata. For Master's, the classes mostly had 30-35 students per batch. The course had a wide syllabus and starting from Radio to Journalism to advertising, public relations everything was taught. Each curriculum had a professor from that particular field teaching the curriculum.
Internships Opportunities
Amity University Kolkata requires you to do a summer internship for two months. This is also a part of the curriculum and the students will be marked based on their performance during the internship. Generally, the University provides companies for internships, but the students themselves can search for the company where they want to intern.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees at Amity University Kolkata are quite high. They promised campus placements for every student during the orientation and also at the time of the interview but failed to place most of the students.
Campus Life
The campus of Amity Kolkata is really beautiful. The library is huge and well equipped. The classrooms are all equipped with projectors. They have also created an entire building for indoor sports just last year. Amity is known for its fest and sports event which take place quite often. Amity is also quite strict with their attendance so you can easily go and use the facilities in between class breaks.
