Remarks

After Filling the University of Delhi forms and I waited for the cutoffs, I got into Ramjas in the second cut-off which was 93.2% for OBC. The percentage for the cutoff is calculating the average of 4 core subjects in your Higher secondary. After that I visited the college provided my form and documents the documents were verified by the admission committee of my department and a form was required to be filled. After the verification process a slip with enrollment no. Was provided and I was asked to pay fee at the Ramjas portal after the verification of the fee receipt, my admission slip was attested and was required to be used as an ID untill the identity card got generated.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose the course because of my keen interest in animal sciences and Ramjas faculty which is excellent, faculty to student ratio is average the strength is not very high so teachers can easily help each and every student individually if required, total faculty of the Zoology department consisted of 14 teachers and 40 students around my time. The faculty is highly qualified most of them having received their PhDs from DU itself, the teaching methods are practical based and to apply what students study, regular internships are conducted, also the course structure is very diverse beside this a lot extra curricular activities are also organized for the overall development of students. The exams were conducted at end of each semester and teachers also conducted timely internal assessments of students, if you are continuously studying what was taught it's pretty easy to pass with a good score.

Internships Opportunities

4

For Zoology internship opportunities are great, in the research arena the department faculties herself conduct specific research programs for the students, and if interested in any other activity other than research various clubs and societies are there which offer the opportunities.

Placement Experience

4

The Placement Cell of Ramjas is very active, a lot of big companies visited the campus including Deloitte, Wipro etc, regarding the placements and packages my knowledge is limited, but with my experience, I can say that by being indulged in various societies overall development occurs greatly and if you are willing to go to a placement interview you can still have a chance with skills gained.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is not very high for the course, it ranges from 14-16k, and also the students of this program are eligible for national scholarship scheme, if they maintain good academic performance, campus jobs for zoology graduates aren't that great but if you are into extracurricular activities you have a chance along with this a lot of content writing platforms offer jobs to zoology graduates

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life at Ramjas is great, it offers you plenty of experiences in a diverse array of fields, the annual fests are conducted during March and are filled with a lot of big celebrities, the library is normal sized and contains sufficient amount of books to meet the demands, basic facilities are provided in each and every classroom according to the modern infrastructure, also Ramjas offers admissions based upon sports quota, and annual athletic meets are organized for the college students between different departments.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course Biomedical Sciences is very interesting as well as challenging, it covers various fields of sciences and has great scope in terms of research. The course connects theory with real world applications in hospitals and research laboratories. A few examples would include, antibacterial testing, PFT, EMG, blood tests, which are commonly performed in hospitals. The course also helps us to pursue our hands in research further by providing us with hands on training for skills such as biostatistics, writing scientific literature, lab skills, etc. A few improvements that I would suggest is the removal of outdated testing methods and practicals from the curriculum that are not essential for the real world currently. The teaching methods are quite good and interesting. The exams are conducted at the end of each semester and are relevant to the curriculum. The practical exams test your knowledge of hands on experience that you've gained while doing lab work. Theory exams are of 3 hours as per usual and test your theoretical knowledge from books and classes mainly.

The average placements is around 5 to 6 lpa. However, a lot students here prefer masters and so a very few take placements, we have a entreprenuerial lab here which allows students to start their own startups and a lot of companies do visit in campus and hire students also. However, my plans would be pursuing for post grad entrance exams if I did'nt get placement.
