Chandigarh University

In 2017 when I got my result of JEE Mains I got very less marks in the exam and was not getting any better college for my graduation,I applied for Punjab University and JMI Delhi but not got the desirable stream then in the end I got to know about Chandigarh University from somewhere that it is a very good University regarding higher Education and for placements.Then I did some research about the university and found that whichever stream I wanted was available only in Chandigarh University in the nearby universities so I visited the university and got admission in Automobile Engineering in 2017.If I talk about the admission then it starts from the end of June every year and goes till August end as much as I know.Admission process is very simple, basically there are two options for students either take admission directly without getting any scholarship or go for CUCET Exam that held every year in the month of June to July and it's registration begins from the first week of May.Based upon your rank in this exam you will get scholarship accordingly.

If I talk about curriculum then I say it is well designed by the management of the university and taught effectively by the faculties.I opted for this course because I had passion for cars.Maybe I had selected for mechanical engineering but I wanted a specialised stream that work only for cars.The number of students in the university is a very big number roughly 30000 and the faculties are about 3 to 4000 I am not sure but it has to be around this number.Exams are conducted in three levels, firstly there are two MST's (MST 1 AND MST 2) then after this there are final exams,and exams are regular even in the lockdown our university conducted exams in online mode I think that is good because most of the universities are deferring their exams.Exams are not much harder if you study well you will easily pass the exam but if you dont study well still you pass but with lesser marks.Every faculty is well educated and having master's and Doctorate degrees,even some faculties are from IIT's.They teach very effectively and efficiently and it's totally upto the students how they grasp the things,even there are some teachers whoms teaching is not understandable but after some time you will get to know about his teachings slowly by the passage of time.

Campus placement is good for CSE students and for Hotel management students.The highest package that our university student got is 35LPA.And the average package ranges from 4 to 10 LPA.Job opportunities are available after completing your degree like you get placements but the chances are less for petroleum, aerospace,and mechanical branches because core companies are not coming to campus .So after getting your degree you have to get a job by yourself by applying in the companies. Companies that come in the campus are like Microsoft,Accenture,Cognizant,IBM,Google,Mahindra etc.Average 3 to 4000 students are placed every year from our university.

Semester fee varies for every stream ,I talk here about the fee structure of engineering only.If I don't include the CSE with IBM then most of the streams has a sem fee of around 81000 without any scholarship ,this is the fee for 2021 but it can increase in the near future.CSE with IBM is a specialised stream of CSE that is having collaboration with IBM and is having better job opportunities has a fee of around 105000 per sem.Hostel fee is anually and you have to pay this fee in two installments ,hostel fee is around 78000 and in the first you have to pay around 48000 and rest in the 2nd half of the year.University also assist in getting study loans for students who are not able to pay their fee.If I talk about placements then I can say CSE is the branch that get higher placements every year and Hotel management too but other stream are having less chances for getting placements, because core companies are not coming for other streams say Aerospace, Petroleum and Automobile Engineering maybe in the near future you will get to see the companies but right now the chances are very less.

Campus Life is very good and Intersting there are badminton courts,sports complex , basketball courts,cricket playground like if you love sport then everything is available there for you.If I talk about entertainment then there is one CU Fest which held annually and it is one of the biggest event in the university in which bollywood celebrities and punjabi singers come and celebrate the festival.Other than this there are also some extra events are organized every year by the university.Also some tech events are also arranged in which students showcase their projects and talents.Classrooms are digital equipped with projector.There are some groups and clubs for students in which students can participate for extra curricular activities.Library is full of books whatever you want you will get their,whole campus is fully wifi you can use wifi anywhere in the campus.Infra is very good everything is available their chilled water ,canteen everything.
