My College Life

One of the most reputed colleges in Kerala. It is a government aided college, therefore low college fees. Good results in architecture department. Got in through KEAM exam( which also considered NATA score). Quite notable list of alumni. Great campus life.

All the faculties are well qualified (most of them IIT graduates). But the curriculum is a outdated. Should make more changes that would increase exposure of students in the architecture world(for eg, could increase the duration of internship period, because experience is the best way to learn)

We have to attend a 6 month internship as part of our course. The college has no role in this. One has to make a portfolio of our own and apply to different firms. During intership you'll work in various projects( residence, apartments, restaurant ; whatever the firm is working on at that time).

There are no campus placements for architecture students. You have to apply to architecture firms and you will be hired based on your portfolio. Starting salary can vary from 8000 to 12000 rupess in Kerala. I am planning to work after course.

Fee is very reasonable, just 8000rupees per annum. Additional fee is paid for University exams. Scholarship is given for students who constantly acquire good marks in academics. Various other scholarships are also available. There are no campus placements for architecture students.

Life at the campus is quite fun. There are students from all parts of Kerala. Also there Btech students as well. Annual tech cum cultural fest Hestia is one of the best in Kerala. With various events covering cultural competition like dance, music, fashion etc. Also there will be a variety of talks and workshops conducted by qualified personnel in their respective profession. Will be attended by students from across Kerala, and few colleges from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. It is a 4 day event with a grand DJ event on the final day.

No gd/pi in for admission. Admission is based on the scores of your NATA and the 12th board marks. An average of the two is taken for admission process. NATA involves general knowledge in architecture and drawing skills.
