Remarks
This college has maintained a very good ranking for past three consecutive years. It has been named 14th best college in India by the NIRF Rankings for the year 2020. The teachers are very friendly and co-opertaive. The college is situated near dhaula kuan bus stand and is at walking distance from Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus Metro Station. Thus, it can be reached easily. Being, in the south campus, it is in close affinity with many other colleges. P.G. accomodations are available near the college. The college is located near Satya Niketan which is the hub of cafes, eateries and many more amenities like stationary shops, book stores and departmentall stores.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is as prescribed by the university of Delhi. But there are frequent strikes which leads to disruption of classes every now and then. The acedmics are rigorous. Students are under compulsion to mantain atleast 75% attendance in classrooms. In the event of failing to meet the above criteria, they are not allowed to appear for exams. The college has a pool of best teachers in tehir respective domains. The teachers are knowledgable with doctorates in their respective domains. They help students in their career endeavours.
Internships Opportunities
There are regular internship drives in the college. There are many good recruiters. The roles offered includes- content writing , digital marketing, social work, marketing , accounting etc. Every recruiter conducts interviews for interested candidates. The stipend and duration varies for every organization. Some of the prominent recruiters in past few years are- Hope foundation for content writing and marketing roles. Byjus for subject matter experts.Tech companies like DXC TECHNOLOGIES, wipro for coding and web designing roles.
Placement Experience
Placements arent very good. There are many opportunities for commerce students. Companies visit and hire students for consultancy and accounts roles. Prominent recruiters include - WIPRO, KPMG.PWC, EXL TECHNOLOGIES, GENPACT, Students from chemistry hons. can show for these palcements provided they have the required skill set. I was part of the startup Eat my news and was offered content writing role at a stipend for 2000 per month.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure for the course chemistry hons. adds upto 45000 for three years. It includes tution fees, sports fees, locker room fees and all other expenses. Scholarships are available for financially weaker students. They can easily apply for scholarship by filling a form and then appearing for the interview. There are few employement opportunities for students from chemistry hons. Students have to participate in placement drives. But there are just handful of recruitersfor chemistry hons.students.
Campus Life
Life at the campus is a mixed bag. There are many clubs and committees which provide great exposure to students and provide them with unmatched learning. Debating club - Nimbus, Dramatics Club- Rangyaan are some of the prominent clubs of the college. There are regular events conducted by these societies.
