Entrance Preview

Indian Maritime university CET exam is mandatory . I scored 1845th rank . Then there is an entrance exam conducted by the college followed Psychometry test , aptitude test , medical test and an interview .

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is of high standards . The faculties are very experienced and they focus on inculcating knowledge into us .

Internships Opportunities

The college is owned by Executive Shipmanagement and they have a ship in campus . 6 months of internship is done inside the SIC .

Placement Experience

Placements are 100% upon successful completion of the course . All cadets are placed in either ESM or British Petroleum . Starting package is Rs 45000 per month during training period .

College Events

There are no celebrations as such in the college . Passing out of the batches are celebrated . Other than that there are no celebrations for any festivals or so .

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is expensive . It's costs over 15lacs for 4 years .

Loans can be taken from many banks and apart from that college offers scholarship for cadets who secure high marks upon completion of an interview .

The course curriculum is pretty outdated. I am in cybersecurity specialization and there are only 2 subjects(starting from 2nd year) related to cybersecurity.and those courses are good but the faculty teaching them arent that great. they just read out the ppts, which they dont even share.

Practical College Life with Real Opportunities for Self-Driven Students

Placements start from final year. Students become eligible in 7th sem. Training sessions begin earlier. Aptitude and coding practice provided. Mock interviews are also conducted. Preparation quality depends on effort. Many service based firms visit. Some product companies also come. Roles include developer and analyst. Support and testing roles common. Core jobs limited for some branches. Multiple offers for top performers. Average package is moderate level. Top packages go to few students. Around half students get placed. Others find off campus jobs. Internships improve placement chances. My plan is skill based job.

I don't know much about the placements but I heard that after third year onwards you get placement opportunities . The highest package is 12 lacks and the average package is between 3.5 to 4.5 lacks .

That aspect that made me choose this course that the it very oriented with the project based learning which prepare students for the industry level knowledge and ready for the job . It really prepare for the real world problem which are needed in the industry. Some improvements can also be added as the era is of AI the curriculum can be shaped based on the AI for future proof. The frequency of the exam is every 6 months it is very good to have exams every 6 months as students get to check their knowledge on timely basis the difficultly level is manageable.
