Remarks

As I lived in Howrah I was looking for a good college in Howrah. then I found Calcutta institute of technology. The college is well located and connected with both roads and railways both.I found very good ratings about this college in various websites.

Course Curriculum Overview

From the very childhood, there was curiosity about computers that took me to chose CSE. Teachers are well experienced and teach explicitly. frankly, I would say teachers are very much supportive not only for academics but also for extra curriculum activities..

Placement Experience

From the 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. There is good collaboration with companies like Infosys, HCL,TCS . The highest package is12 lacks given by ZARO.In 2020 around 75% of students are placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

For a B.Tech student total cost is around 3,00,000 ruppes. For fee structure, I would suggest visiting the college website for detailed information. if you are not a TFW student then you can apply for the Swami Vivekananda scholarship.

Campus Life

There is an annual fest , teachers day are conducted.Every student and teachers are participating with great interest.The library are full with not only subject books but also with journals.In February college sports are taken place.

Placement Experience:

At JGEC,campus placements begin mostly from the 6th/final year semester,when students become eligible .I recent years many well-known companies have visited such as Pinnacle Infotech,Synnova Gears & Transmissions Pvt.Ltd,,TCS,Jyesta corporate Entity and many more.The highest package was around 54 LPA form Google ,While the overall average is 10.2LPA.Many students also take internships, industrial training or prepare for higher studies(GATE) rather than accepting direct placement immediately.The exact percentage of student getting palcement is no where.But last year the percentage placed is 70%.

Placement opportunities are overall good, students can apply for the placement form 5th and 6th semester and can get PPOs's companies like Microsoft, google, amazon comes during the placement season and every year, so many students get placed even with a package greater than 2cr INR. Overall the placement percentage of the college is good for both the core and non-core courses almost near 90%. All the students in there 3rd year i.e. in their 5th or 6th semester are elegible for campus placements. A few companies which visit the college are TCS, WIPRO, TECH MAHINDRA, INFOSYS, IBM, COGNIZANT, HUL, HCL, INDIAN OIL, MITSUBSHI, NJ INDIA, D-POWER,ETC. all the companies offer placement. highest on-campus package = inr 33 lakh where as the average is around 6lpa. After the degree, I plan to get a good placement in a core company and opt for GATE.
