The main reason for choosing this college is its good reputation. I had heard about it from many seniors of mine studying in this college. The college has a NAAC accredited 'A' grade and was the first recipient of the 'Best College Award' in Mumbai University. Apart from this, it is a college with a grant under the FIST and DBT STAR College scheme. It has also been granted the status of 'College with Potential of Excellence'. It has been granted the status of autonomy in the year 2020. The admission process is easy and well-monitored and is merit-based. This college could be preferred due to its better teaching faculty, good infrastructure, facilities such as the library, laboratories for each department, etc. Various sports, cultural activities, and fests are being conducted throughout the year. The college is famous for its event- 'Dimensions-The Fest'.

Biotechnology has huge scope worldwide, which is why I chose this course. The approximate intake of students is 30 per batch. The teaching faculty includes 8 associated professors, 4 lab assistants. There are separate laboratories for BSc and MSc students. All the professors are PhD degree holders and have a good teaching method. Semesters are held after 4-5 months in a 10-month curriculum. Internal assessments are taken in the form of short tests and assignments. Practicals are conducted before the semesters usually. The exams ensure levels of difficulty from easy to moderate to difficult.

Several research projects are conducted under mentor guidance. I am unaware of the internships provided. I have never applied for it. 'Hands-on' courses are conducted too under the DBT STAR College Scheme.

The 'Scientific Research Center' provides placements to the students from the third or 4th semester itself. I am not aware of other placements provided. I might be doing MSc in Biotechnology after I complete this course.

My course fees were RS 32000/- on an average per year. This course has a bit higher fees as it is a self-financing course but one could get some assistance from caste benefits. Also, the college has a few scholarships like Israni scholarship, etc which are provided based on the students' family income, caste, etc. The department of Chemistry provides T. N. Venkatesan scholarship which is caste and merit-based. I didn't see a fee hike during my education. I am not aware of the placements provided.

The famous annual fest of the college 'Dimensions' is conducted in the month of December. There are also few departmental fests conducted throughout the year. The college library is huge and the required books are easily available. Classrooms are well-furnished and are not congested. Various sports events are organized and there is a badminton club too. Cultural events such as Annual day, theatre activities, etc. are also conducted. It has a students' council, NSS services, and a youth parliament too. The college conducted its first international research conference in March 2021.
