Entrance Preview

WBJEE RANK- 23178 I opted for this college because with my rank j wasn't getting admission to CSE in any colleges in kolkata, SVIST lies in close vicinity of kolkata and therefore i took admission in this college because I didn't want to go outside kolkata for my under graduation.

Course Curriculum Overview

Quite good course structure, semester pattern is followed each sem has around 5-6 papers, along with practicals elective subjects can be taken in the 7th and 8th semester according to your liking and disliking.

Placement Experience

The training and placement cell is quite active every week at least a company visit our campus for recruitment. Apart from that the college sponsors every final year student with 2 AMCAT examination (employbility test). Placement percentage - 82% (2016).

Fee Structure And Facilities

Approx 38k per semester.

Campus Life

Quite average a satisfactory canteen volleyball court and basketball court badminton court ac classrooms with generator support and well equipped library so there are no complaints about the infrastructure.

We have an alumni social media where every body interacts and helps the fellow svistians with job opportunities, life tips, suggestions and other helpful activities.

Exam Structure

Quite a lot of pressure at times mostly chilled out and fun filled lab sessions examinations are strictly guided by the faculty. Extra cautious invigilators cheating is difficult.

My Honest Review For Nit Durgapur

Placement Experience:

Yes our college offers campus placements.Students from 4th year are eligible for campus placements.Many reputed nation and international companies like microsoft,Wipro,TCS, Infosys and many more companies offrers placement every year in this college. arrording to 2025 deta overall placement rate was 82 percent, Highest packege was 80 lpa and average packege was 12.6lpa. My only plan to get a good placements.

The course curriculum is very relevant and useful for us.They teach data structures algorithm that is very important for college placements and they also teach os, networks and other usefull things that is very important in computer science.They provide very high quality labs and the whole college has a good internet connection.Tecahers are very educated and good they helps us and teaching in very good way .The exams time schedule is also very good if there is any problem the college will change the exam date that is really a good thing.

Story of hit

Placement Experience:

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Like tcs infosys cognizant ibm Capgemini like companies comes every year with good placement and capsitech gives you internship from 3 year . From 7th sem you are eligible for campus placement in 2025 the avg package is 5-7 lpa and Highest lpa is 75lpa . My plan is getting good job in good company

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

Placement Experience:

In my college according to this year college placements went 82% . If you can't get campus placement , there is a high probability if you can apply for any job outside campus and you have relevant skills you can get it . As alumini network of this college is quite good . Microsoft, apple, Deloitte,....etc many companies visits i don't even remember ????more . After getting degree i wants to prepare for govt job

Svist review

I have applied in du, gnit and got confirmed seats in du but due to family reasons I didn't make it in du. And in gnit i didn't got a seat in cse department as it was full but it was offering me aiml. Then there was svist which was closed to my house and was providing the course.
