Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli is one of the top 3 prestigious engineering colleges from Maharashtra so many students prefer the institute. The best thing about the college is it's teaching staff. Some of the experts in the respective fields guide students to achieve great things. The atmosphere of the college campus is soothing. The placements from the institute are amongst the best from the state. The infrastructure of the college is somewhat old but college is working on that front too.

Civil Engineering department is oldest amongst all in Walchand College. The teaching staff you get is very experienced and knowledgeable. Some teachers also design their course syllabus according to the requirements of the competitive exams like GATE. Mostly all faculty is PhD holders in their respective fields. The faculty students ratio is about 1:14

From 7th semester the students are eligible for the campus recruitment process. CSE or IT branch students get placed in atleast 1 company and there are some incidents that a student got placed in 4-5 companies. For core branches (Civil, Mechanical and Electrical) the average placement percentage is 70-75%. The highest package received is of Rs 4200000 per annum and the average package is about 450000 per annum. The students got placed in companies like Google, Amazon, TCS, L&T, Eaton, Nvidia, HCC, TCE, NICE, etc

The best thing about the institute is the vast 92 acre campus filled with lush green trees. There are several important student run college clubs are there for various activities they include SOFTA, ROTARACT, PACE, ART CIRCLE and departmental clubs. These clubs help students to improve their curricular and extra curricular skills. Annual tech fest "VISION" is conducted along with the annual social gathering. The college library named Ajit Gulabchand Central Library is one of the Asia's biggest library. The classrooms are well equipped with the smart board for better learning outcomes. In the campus itself there are cricket ground, vollyball ground, football ground, badminton court and gymkhana.

The college fees increses by 8-10% annually. The overall fee for course is Rs 75000-80000 per student per year. All the government approved scholarships can be availed. The tution fee is Rs 15000 and other fee includes the development fee, exam fee, etc

Admissions are carried out on the basis of the score obtained in the CET conducted by Maharashtra State Government. There are no separate exam, interview or GD conducted by the college itself. The admission depends on your score and your on reservation criteria.
