Remarks
To be very true I didnäó»t score an amazing score, so government medical colleges and private medical colleges were not an option for me.I had given NEET UG 3 times by this time (repeated 2 years) and had to look out for either Foreign Medical Colleges(Russia,China, Philippines etc)or Deemed Medical Colleges in India. And Deemed medical colleges were the safer bet although we would have a huge strain on the pocket to get there. And the icing on the cake is this Medical College is closest to my home(about 70 km only)
Course Curriculum Overview
This college or to say this University is a Nodal centre which means that it is an Ideal University. Other University try to manage all the academic and management by following in the footsteps of JNMC.It has some of the most amazing teachers of the country. The teacher to student ratio would be 1:10.They pay attention to all students concerns through Student Council and Preceptor Programs. The exams are taken timely(I.e 1st year-in July 2/3/4 year in December) as of now (may change due to the pandemic in coming years and has the best facilities in the campus u can ask for. It has Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural hospital attached to the University which is a great place for the clinical journey for Med students studying here.
Internships Opportunities
The final year is followed by compulsory internship just like every other college in the country with the bare minimum Stipend of 3000 rupees every month. As most students are preparing for PG entrance exams, they try to not bombard the students with a lot of work. The work timings would barely affect your studies.Full cooperation form college authorities is given.
Placement Experience
This is a Medical College so itäó»s 100 percent sure that u can get a Medical Officer post anywhere in India. But students mostly opt for studying for NEET PG or USMLE or PLAB and continue with the specialisation of their choice.
College Events
There are soo many different student groups that u can be an active participant of.The biggest fest is the GFC(Ganpati Festival Celebration) in the month of Ganesh Sthapana and is a 10 day non stop event. You ll be able to participate in everything u want. Then there is Alumni Function held every year for one batch that has completed 25 years in this college( best event to participate in). There are so many different clubs for the events like Drama club,Music and Vocal Club, Literary Society,Student Council body,Props committee, Sports club, Cooking clubs and everything u can ever imagine. The Library has the biggest collection of Medical Books and Journals and has a very good management.
Fees and Financial Aid
Havent heard of any Scholarships The Scholarships mentioned in the brochure is just on paper.Nobody helps you to get that (low income class) scholarships.Loan facilities are available for various banks including Punjab National Bank and HDFC Bank.
Hostel Facilities
Now Hostel is the most disappointing thing about this University.First of all,if u dont opt out from the hostel during your admission process they will never permit you to leave. The Hostel fees is completely unjust and over exaggerated for a place like sawangi. You could stay outside paying not more than 25% of the hostel fess every year.No matter how much you try to quit hostel they will force you to stay(unless you are ready to pay the entire hostel fees and then live outside)The Hostels are not even very good infrastructure wise and have a lot of complaints. The Boys hostels are out of the Campus about 1 km away while all the girls hostels are inside the campus. They have a very average infrastructure but the complaints are looked into with utmost priority.FGirls hostel wardens are very strict.Hostel in times are fixed (9pm for girls) boys do not follow in times. The crazy hostel prices are 1 seater AC+ mess+amenities = about 4 lakh rupees every yearTriple seater AC + mess+ amenities=1,77,000 rupees every year
