Remarks

Placement could be improved. There could be more interactive sessions by placement department. As well as, college could try to host some campus drives. As well as, placement department should take some sessions on 'How to get hired?'.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Almost every course offers a foreign business language, behavioral science, and communication subject through out each semester. My course has a duration of 3 years, i.e, 6 semesters. Apart from these extra subjects, you get Summer Internship, Research Paper, and Major Project which have certain credits. We have subject related to programming languages which have a scope in IT industry. Speaking for exam structures, we have internal exams (mid-sem) and final exams at the end of every semester.

Placement Experience

3

Regarding placements, it's not quite good. There are no campus visits by companies. Although there are some pool campus drives at other colleges. For current year, there have been around 10 campus drive in total which includes names such as LTI, TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, SAP Labs, Delta X, etc. The package that the companies offer is not quite good but also not below industry standards. Yes, college provides internship. But they expect you to try searching by yourself before depending on college. My internship was with Inland World Logistics as their Web Development Intern for 2 months. The stipend that I was offered was 4000/- month. I had a very great experience on my internship. The team that I worked with comprised of 5 other people from different colleges. We get to share our skills, learn from each other and give a boost to our teamwork skills.

College Events

We have Amiphoria, which is a 3 day annual fest of Amity University Kolkata. Amiphoria comprises of different competitions in various fields such as sports, music, fashion, academics, and e-sports. Bleed Code is one such event, which is a coding competition and the winner recieves a cash prize. Mahalaya, which marks the begining of Navratri is celebrated in Amity University Kolkata with a lot of joy. It is celebrated with dhunuchi naach (bengali tradition) and other such cultural events.Sangathan is an inter-department competition in Amity University Kolkata, where different departments compete in various sports such as Football, Cricket, Kabadi, Basketball, etc. Halloween, Makar Sankranti, Janamsthmi and other festivals are also celebrated in Amity by different departments with programs such as music, dance, and drama.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible and is not high compared to contemporaries. My fee structure is around 55,000/-semester, which is same or near to what other colleges charge. Amity University Noida, might be a tad bit expensive, but other campuses have a feasible fee structure.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a scholarship for students who have good marks. One of my friend when applying for BBA, received a scholarship due to their 12th marks. Other than that, I don't have any information of student loan or other scholarships.

Campus Life

4.5

We have good labs with high tech equipment. We have good playing courts for basketball. There is Sangathan as well as Amiphoria which encourages students to participate in those sports. There are different clubs such as IT Club, Sports Club, Photography club, etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

No, I haven't opted for hostel. But what I hear from some of my batch mates who stay in hostel is good. The rooms are hygenic, clean, and comfortable. There is good security inside the campus. You can't get inside the hostel without activated i-cards.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, they are helpful. They can offer you their experiences and information regarding Amity University, Kolkata. A wide number of alumni visit college in Amiphoria to be a part again of the fest. Seniors in college are very helpful and supportive.

Admission

Yes. The first step is to fill out a registration form for the respective campus. Amity offers campuses in various cities as well as nations. After registration, a date is assigned to you for entrance exam at the campus. After entrance exam, there is an interview process which is usually taken by HOD and a senior professor of the department you are applying for. Post-interview, you get a confirmation mail regarding your selection. After you are selected, you have to submit the required documents along with affidavits and undertaking as well as you have to submit the fees. After successful document verification, you are officially a student in Amity University.

Faculty

4.5

Faculties are well learned and very supportive with students. Some faculties even are available for doubt clearing over Phone/E-mail/Whatsapp before 10 pm, if required for students. They offer us guidance and are always there for us. Faculties and HOD/HOI have open door policy and they are always open to your problems that you are facing whether being academic or something else.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Well as far as mh knowledge students get to placements from 6th semester itself . Well there are placement classes from 3rd semester itself . The placement track record of the college is quite good with most year about 90% gets placed with good companies comming like Deloitte, EY GDS , JP MORGAN, Oracle , offering high amount of placement offers like around 20+ lpa . Well I am not sure about my plans maybe if the palacement is good I'll take it or will be preparing for GATE (Whose courses are also provided from college .)

Placement Experience:

The senario of placement in all of the private colleges of West Bengal are more or less the same. Majority of the students are placed in Service Based Companies like TCS, Wirpo, Infosys, HCL, Accenture, Cognizent, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, etc. These companies offer anywhere from 3.6 to 6 lpa packages. Only a handful of Product based companies come in these private colleges and cherry pick 2-3 student per college only. This is the reality of all the private colleges, not just our college. If you want to crack a high paying job, you will have to do it off campus. The students are eligible for internships from the 6th semester itself. The college does try to provide internship to students but only a few students end up getting the internships and most students need to find internships on their own. Some companies which came in 24-25 session which offered an internship and PPO are Amazon, SAP Labs, Accenture, etc. For a detailed placement stat, go to our college's website and look for training and placement stats. The college is honest in putting these stats. The stats are mostly reliable. The highest off campus placement in 24-25 session was by Snehadeep De, who secured a SDE role in Amazon with 47 lpa CTC. This was off campus so the college had no role to play here. The highest on campus placement was by two students in the company Juspay. They were offered the SDE role for 27 lpa CTC. The average placement of all the CS branches will be around 5-6 lpa. And approximately around 60-65% of the students get placed. This is the ground reality. And its the same in all of the WB private colleges. If you want to keep a backup option in case you don't want to get a 3.6 lpa job then start preparing for GATE, CAT or Civil Services from your second year. Its always preferred to have a backup option cause you can't trust a private college for providing you jobs.

Placement Experience:

The placements are really nice. Every year, a large amount of students are employed by Tech Mahindra, CTS, TCS, Wipro, etc. all software giants. The starting salaries are also decent. Most students get placed, but 100% placement has also been achieved by the college now.

Placement Experience:

Placement eligibility usually starts in the final year, but there are limited opportunities. Some IT and outsourcing companies visit, but they offer low salary packages. The average package offered is not very high about 3-4 LPA and only a small percentage of students get placed. Many students prefer to pursue an MCA or learn additional skills like web development, data science or cyber security to improve their job prospects. After completing my BCA, I plan to gain experience in IT related jobs improve my technical skills and possibly pursue higher studies like MCA. I might also explore freelancing or certification to increase job opportunities. Since I already have customer service and telecalling experience, I may also consider IT support roles before moving into core technical jobs. Building skills and networking will be important for getting a good job after graduation.
