MCKVIE provides you a wide range of courses in the engineering domain. There are 6 respective departments as EE, ECE, CSE, IT, AUE, ME which can be chosen depending upon JEE WBJEE rank and choice. After entrance exams results and assignments of colleges the admissions begin. Normally it begins in June and classes get started from August. The college gives dates when you can go and submit your details along with your parents and get the confirmation of the admission. They provide a file that includes all curriculum and the fee structure for 4 years of BTECH. Preferably this college is for people who live in Howrah. But it well connected to other cities too by road and rail transport. The campus is a little small and that’s the bad aspect. I am studying Electrical Engineering in MCKV Institute of Engineering. I have a keen interest in machines and electricity transmission, how they work and that led me to here. The EE department is considered one of the most prized departments of MCKVIE. On an average there are 5-6 subjects every semester and for every subject we have different teachers with great knowledge and understanding. Most teachers have completed there Phd while others are pursing it. The teachers take regular classes and ensure we have completed full syllabus with sheer understanding and also labs are there for more precise learning. In the duration of 4 years ,we have 8 semesters and in each semester we have 2 class tests papers.On an average, the class test papers are moderate in difficulty. Doubts are also discussed on a regular basis. All the syllabus gets covered by teachers and therefore exams become easy if we study regularly.

The placement can be done for the students from his or her sixth semester. Renowned companies to visit MCKVIE are TCS, Cognizant, ByJus, Infosys, Capgemini, and so on. The average salary or the package which you might expect from the college is 5 to 6 lakhs or maybe 7 to 8 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placed is quite good as the placement cell helps in the placement and if a student has really good communication skills then they can get the job from the campus itself. Off to the placements, there are many students who also offer for this start-up and MCKVIE has numerous examples of students who are successful in start-ups and even in their corporate life. I personally plan to create a startup after passing on. But I will definitely look for my campus placement as I would need some management skills to handle the startup.

College students are eligible for campusing and placements from the 6th semester. TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Byjus, and many more renowned companies visit the college every year and hire our students in huge numbers. Almost 70 percent of students from every department get placed in companies. I wish to begin a startup after completing my degree in this college.

The fees hike policy is quite affordable and it is around four lakhs for four years of BTech. Moreover, if the person is facing financial issues then the authorities look after it. After every semester We have to pay 42,000 to 43,000. This depends on the odd and even semester. There is generally a time limit after which you may be charged for late fees but if there is a financial problem then the college looks after it and helps the student. There are no such specific scholarships that the college provides but there is definitely some financial aid for the needy. Along with this the college office, department HoDs and the placement cell get you prepared for the interview and the jobs. Several MNCs come for placement in all the departments then students are hired on a merit basis. The maximum package goes up to 7-8 lakhs in some cases. Overall the colleges boasts a good reputation in providing jobs.

In the college, there are generally two fests organized. The cultural fest UTOPIA occurs at the time of January- February. The tech fest BARAKA in November. MCKVIE has a huge variety of books and journals in the library and you can issue books from the library for 15 days on the basis of your ID card and can renew for further use. You will get all types of books relating to engineering magazines journals and newspapers. The classroom is spacious with a table and chairs and a big blackboard along with a projector and fans. A sports event is always held once a year you can participate in different sports and get awarded for securing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place on the fest days. There are actively two groups in the college, the Rotaract club of MCKVIE and also The StartUpClub by MCKVIE. Both clubs are really active and help you engage in your social life and also helps others. One can be a part of anyone.
