Remarks

Hansraj College is not only a name but also a 'brand' among various colleges in India. It has been placed in the top 10 colleges of India (every year it ranks fluctuates between 1 to 10) and the top 5 colleges of the University of Delhi. I view this college as a very good college for the holistic development of students. Quality education with ECA.Admission is done through the site of DU (www.du.ac.in.). You have to register here when application forms will be released ( generally in April or May). After that, in the aftermath of the board's result declaration (around June), DU affiliated colleges like Hansraj, Hindu college St. Stephan's, SRCC, etc. Release their cutoffs for the various courses ( in the form of % that is called merit-based system and the that on 12th class percentage. Now you have to choose your preferred course and check if you're clearing the cutoff to go and get admission. Note:- As per a few sources it has been said that this year (2021) admission will be done on the basis OF CUCET.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The syllabus and recommended books, followed by the college are one of the best and most useful ones. The teachers are very much helpful and quite knowledgeable. They are hard working and always try their best to give to students. They all belongs from good educational background and research work. Practical classes and fieldwork are also preferred. In my Course Anthropology, we have performed various practicals in real life which have been really very much useful in our if book syllabus! We have also visited Bhopal for our Archeological fieldwork sponsored by DU. Hansraj College is also very kuch good when it comes to ECA. Various societies along with good sports infrastructure can be cited as on of the reason for varied quality of alma matter like in singing, dancing, acting, games and sports etc. I will highly recommend this college for those who want to develop holistically.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The internship cell is available in my college, which tried its best to bring the best internship opportunity to the students. You have to register yourself with an Internship cell and they will keep sending you emails of various good internship oppurtunities. Also, you can apply for an internship outside of college too and the name 'Hansraj college' will make a very much impact on your resume for internship. I myself have done 2 internships (other from internship cell) and it was amazing.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement cell of the college is very much active. The placement package is quite good. But it depends much on the qualification of the candidate that how's s/he has performed. Otherwise, college placement is all good as the reputation enjoyed by the college is attentive. Many alma matters are very much famous, which make internship companies and placement companies fall for Hansraj college. So in literal terms, college placement is no less than others. ( As per many seniors, the average package goes like 3-4 lakh per annum to 7 -9 lakhs per annum). It may rise high, depending on the qualification of student and level of the company.

Fees and Financial Aid

In my view, this is a notable drawback for my college. The fee structure is quite high compare to various other Colleges in India. The fee structure is not that much student-friendly as along with college fees you have to arrange good finance for surviving In Delhi. As per me, you need atleast 90k / annum along with college fees to survive for each year in Delhi. .And, on the topic of scholarships, so from here you can apply for various scholarships like NSP, INSPIRE, etc. College also provides Merit-cum need scholarships but the amount granted is really very low. They provide good infrastructure, faculty members, library and canteen but in my opinion, the fees they demand is quite high.

Campus Life

4.5

There are various videos available on YouTube regarding fest in Hansraj Colleges. The fest organized in Hansraj College is great. We enjoy being a part of the fest. Also, you can go to the fest of other colleges (available near your college ) if you're a student of Hansraj College. Various societies like NSS, SPICMACAY, VISION, NISTHA, EOC&EU, etc. Are available here which sharpen your interest in ECA. Like one who is good at singing can join the singing society (free of cost) available in college and can improve and even achieve very much in that field too. They organized contests and participate too in various contests at the college, state, and even national levels. Sports faculty is also great. You can check the Kam matters in the field of sports. Our college has quite good attendance in that.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel available is great. You will be living with students from various states and cultures there. The room, facilities provided to you are good. The best part for me is the Food they provide. .Believe me, you will be a fan of them. They provide you quality, quantity food and take care of a balanced diet. Always fresh, tasty, and healthy meal. You'll get other attention in the college of being a hosteller. Free Wi-Fi is provided to hostellers. You'll be provided with Gym( free) and sports facilities. The location of the college hostel is inside the college which makes it a boon for the hosteller to reach college shortly. Also, the location is in Malkha gunj and you will be at focus junction, whatever you need, you will get around the area. One drawback of the college hostel is its "HIGH FEES STRUCTURE". I believe, they charge much more in comparison to other hostels in various colleges in India. Thye should keep it low, to make it eco-friendly.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of Hansraj College is quite active. You are eligible to sit for campus placement offers from 5th semester onwards. Companies like Deloitte, capgemini arw frequent recruiters for several posts and positions. The highest offered package is somewhere around 22000 with the average being at 700000-800000. Not all students get placed on campus, however thr hands on training and learning makes you industry ready, making you eligible amd worthy to apply for off campus placement opportunities. Many students prefer not to sit for campus placements and rather opt for higher studies after graduation. I plan to do the same after getting my undergraduate degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think the BSc Statistics (H) offered by Sri Venkateshwara College has been quite relevant and comprehensive in content. The core courses such as probability, inference, regression, and econometrics were the major reasons for opting for the subject of statistics. It provides us in-depth analytical training that is necessary for higher education and work in the field of data, though there is a need for exposure to software/tools as well. The semester-wise examination, which is moderately tough

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is just like any other college, and you need to do a lot of the skill enhancement by yourself. Here, you will learn something, but not everything that is relevant. The professors will teach according to the syllabus, be it really relevant in real life or not. Everything that you will be learning will be relevant for career in this field, but not enough. You require to put some extra efforts to gain more knowledge and practice.

Placement Experience:

Students typically become eligible from 3rd year/6th semester onwards for most companies. Some internships and tech roles may be available to 2nd-year students depending on the company criteria. Placement Percentage: Usually, 70–85% of eligible students get placed, depending on the stream. Highest placement rates are often in Computer Science, Economics, and Commerce streams. My plan is to become a software engineer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Cource curriculum is highly relevant. It covers fundamental and advanced concepts of zoology , which was the main reason I choose this course. Subjects like human physiology, biochemistry, biomolecules, comparative anatomy of vertebrates, animal behaviour, ...etc. are highly interested and align with my interest. Practical components help in developing and understanding concepts more clearly. However, real world applications is limited. Curriculum prepare students well for further academics for PG or other competitive exams. Exam system is conducted at regular intervals with Internal assessment and semester end. Timings are appropriate . Difficulty level is moderate to high.

Hindu College, Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Mathematics)
Reviewed on Jan 6, 2026(Enrolled 2025)

Course Curriculum Overview:

For B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics at Hindu College, the curriculum follows the latest DU UGCF?2022 structure, so it covers both strong theory and some modern applications. The main reason to choose this course is the depth in core areas like Calculus, Algebra, Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and Probability, which builds a very solid base for higher studies like M.Sc, data science or research. There are six semesters with continuous internal assessment plus end?semester exams, so students study regularly instead of only before finals. Exams are usually moderate to difficult because questions are concept?based, but the pattern is fair and gives weightage to assignments, tutorials and attendance. Overall, the course is quite comprehensive and relevant for careers in teaching, analytics, government exams and higher academics, though adding more practical projects, programming and real?life modelling could make it even more industry?oriented
