Remarks

Since I had a good percentage in my 12th CBSE Exam (92%), I chose to pursue my graduation in the very reputed UNIVERSITY OF DELHI. Being a student of Science I was willing to move with a BSc in Computer Science as my course for graduation. I searched for colleges of my interest for that I took the help of few websites - collegedunia.com, collegedekho.com, etc. I found Hansraj College as the right college for me as it is one of the finest colleges in the DU for a CS student. The teachers are polite and highly experienced. Classrooms, Libraries, Labs, Gym and Canteen have a very fine space and are air-conditioned. Canteen hygiene is poor though. A hostel facility is also available. For entertainment, sports stuff is available. College Ground is large enough to play sports or to conduct fests. Various societies are there for fun and learning. The admission process is smooth with all the required documents in your hand, admission will take merely 2-3 hours. Staff for your help would be there.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I was a student of Science and had a bit interest in Computer and Coding. Since DU provides you with a good mixture of Learning and Fun, I chose CS as my course so that I could learn the concepts and could have fun alongside them. The teaching staff is quite good as there are different teachers for each subject and changes every semester. A class holds about 50-60 students for one teacher since classrooms are large enough. Teachers have very much experience having various fine ideas to create a frank environment for the students to learn the concepts more easily. Term Exams are conducted every year providing students a fine time to revise what they learned. It's all upon the student how well he learned the things that decide the difficulty level of the exam. Although, exams are moderate in level.

Placement Experience

3

The last year of graduation is when you can start applying for placements in various organizations. The average package in a year reaches about 5 lakhs. It is quite simple to understand that good placement requires a good percentage for a student to live a nice life after college. My plan is to seek a nice job in an area like a technical area where I could work with great efficiency to reach good heights.

Fees and Financial Aid

When applying for CS in engineering college, the fees are very high per year for a student. But, in DU the course fee for the same is about half the amount. Almost all the colleges with CS as in their course have fees of around 48,000. This amount might seem high but, it is a very fine fee for such a course because one would be able to enjoy college life other than just studying and completing assignments. Job opportunities are limitless when we talk about CS. Various Internship Societies conducts seminars for the students to make them aware of the jobs and internships that they may do in their time.

Campus Life

4.5

Various types of Fests are conducted every semester as per all students' comfort. All the respective societies such as Nishtha, Kalakriti, Drama Society, Ordinateur (CS Society), NSS, etc conduct their fests every time with open gates for the participants to enjoy and learn something new. Air-conditioned classrooms are there for the students. Stair-type seating facilities are there in many classes. Projectors are also available for better visualization of concepts. Many athletes, sport-persons have passed out from Hansraj. The sports facility is nice. Sport like Volleyball, Cricket, Football, Archery is available. Indoor Games like Carrom, Table-Tennis, etc are available all the time. Students themselves have the openness to form their own societies like Ordinateur which is a society formed by Computer Science students of Hansraj. This society is famous for it conducts tech-fests awarding the winners with excellent prizes.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
