Remarks
My college, JAMIA HAMDARD, NEW DELHI is the NIRF ranked 1 pharmacy institute in the country. The infrastructure is too good as it is a government-funded autonomous deemed to be a university. The qualifications of the faculties themselves say the potential of the university. In college, we have technical and cultural societies that organize different programs like freshers and all. After the class 12th board results, the university releases admission forms for different undergrad courses. Most of the seats in a department are given based on admission tests or any national level entrance exams like JEE MAINS, NEET, CLAT, etc. whereas a little number of seats are given based on merit. If someone has extraordinary marks in their boards like 90-95+ percentage they can get direct admissions. The campus is of more than 100 acres, including a sports facility, well-maintained classrooms, labs, greenery, and a huge central library. https://jamiahamdard.edu is the official website.
Course Curriculum Overview
In the field of pharmaceutical sciences, I was intrested from the beginning. Being the no. 1 pharmacy institute the quality of education and research is too good here. Moreover, a very good track of placement is there. All the major pharmaceutical companies come for recruitment. The faculty vs student ratio is 1:5 All the teachers are having a minimum PHD and many ones having Postdoctoral degrees. A very beautiful way of teaching and most of the teachers encourages students for better results in academics and research. We had two sessional term exams and the final semester including assignments. If you carefully follow the class and make notes then no worries, you will definitely score well.
Internships Opportunities
Companies like sun pharma, apollo hospitals, and different renowned companies offer internships to students as a medical writer, clinical research coordinator, analyst, etc. I dont have that much knowledge about it because I haven't got a chance to internships as I am in 1st year.
Placement Experience
Just a semester before the final year, students become eligible for campus placements. All the best and top companies like sun pharma, nestle, Appolo hospitals, etc comes and offer goof packages. As I am in 1st year, idk the exact figures of packages. But it is ranked 1 institution. It obviously gives better placements than any other pharmacy institute in the country. Almost 100% in the case of pharmacy students. I want to pursue higher studies and wanna go for a PHD in the future.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are okay because it is a government-aided university. Including semester and examination fees 1 lacs per year is charged. As it is a minority institution, many scholarships are there for the minority students, whereas for all students there is a scholarship like if you rank as the top 10% students in your department, 50% of fees is reduced. For the next top, 10% students 25% fees get reduced.
Campus Life
The technocultural fest is - NERDZ, which is conducted in March generally. In our school i.e school of chemical and life sciences, there is a mini library for departmental students whereas in the central library there's a huge number of books present for almost every subject. A separate sports complex is present on the campus, including all kinds of indoor and outdoor sports like cricket, basketball, table tennis, etc. Different sports tournaments are organized. Sports fest is also there.
