Overall college is good with some lazy people in the office who sometimes make our life miserable even to get the small things done.

I came through DCET. Had a rank of 550. Didn't get any autonomous college as I was GM. I had to settle for BIT. As per the data its one of the best colleges in VTU.

The syllabus is pretty outdated, and its not the fault of BIT but of VTU. The teaching is considerably good with much focus given to scoring good marks rather than securing knowledge. Although there are various clubs like stratos , Kratos , tedx which are really working to bring latest tech infront of students.

Some of the companies which come for the placements provide internships with an average stipend of over 10000.

Placements are the best compared to any vtu colleges. The basic package is 3 lakhs with the max as high as 14 LPA. Its easy to get placed if u opted CS IS EC, other branches struggle quite a bit. Fortunately I got placed in Robert Bosch which is one of the four core companies that come for mech. Others are Toyota Kirloskar, Mahindra Aerospace and L&T.

Manthan is the college's annual fest which is generally celebrated in the month of April. Bollywood and kannada celebrities are invited to the fest. Last year Ranvijay singh came and before that Sudeep. Other than fest Ganeshotsav is celebrated every year. Tedx talks take place almost every year.

Its quite feasible if you are from CET. But quite expensive for those who come from COMED-K. But the college fees is comparatively very cheap. The fees for new admission is almost RS. 60,000/- and that for comed-k is about RS. 2,00,000/-. The fees is almost 50,000 for those who got admitted before 2015.

OBC people get fee concision from GOVT and also food and accomodation expenses. SC/ST students only have to pay college fees and no CET fees.

Campus is very congested with parking everywhere. Lab are very good and are well equipped. extracurricular activities are very limited as much focus is given on curricular. Lots of events are held during Manthan. Rotract Club hosts a lot of events in the college.

Hostel is very good with not a lot of restrictions imposed. Food is the best part about the hostel. Food is provided 3 times a day with tea in the evening. Hostel is priced reasonably well with almost 75000 for a year. Good rooms with no water and electricity problems.

Seniors are really very helpful to know about the placements and how to prepare for it. They will guide you in right direction.

The college has 3 internals, each of 25 marks and 2 lab internals of the same marks. Externals are conducted for about a month as per VTU schedule. Exams are strictly conducted with very little chance of any cheating. Examiners come from different colleges for lab exams.

Faculties are quite good. Have enough knowledge with some of them are on par and some are worst. Lab instructors are quite good. A lot of teachers have done PhD. Overall teaching is very good and it mostly depends on us to study well and get good marks in exam.
