Remarks

Well everything about our college is nothing but good and I can say this with my head held up high that this college has been one of the best decision of my life.

Entrance Preview

I did take JEE for IHM, but even though I scored under the 1300 mark I realized joining Sophia was more of a better choice as I had lesser crowd and the faculty gave everyone the attention required, thus the one on one relationship being spot on.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

This course like I said is spot on, there are extra curricular activities which help us build our weaknesses and help us achieve the impossible. The books are given by the faculty and there is not some gibberish matter but what is necessary to understand and grow.

Internships Opportunities

Our college does provide internships in the second year for 4.5 months. We get quiet the number of 5 star hotels like taj, Hyatt, oberois, etc coming to the college for interviews and since the stipend is not controlled by the college the hotels provide it.

Placement Experience

4.5

If I could really summaries this in the most informal way I would say it is off the hook. The number of companies coming for campus interviews for a bare amount of 60 students is amazing.

College Events

5

Since we have a hospitality section I shall tell you about our events. We have two events that take place in a year. In the initial part of the year we conduct an even called the theme dinner where as the name suggests we organize a dinner with a particular theme and follow it. Next event being the exhibition dinner which is the biggest event in our department when a budget of 25 lac is given and we use that to make a huge even possible . We cook over 100 buffet dishes and this too has a theme . (Both of these events are marked by an external examiner ).

Fee Structure And Facilities

I would say quiet feasible. We pay around 95,000 to a 1,00,000 and with the services provided I would say that it is amazing and they do not shy out on its costs. We pay this for each year and are provided with 3 class room uniforms and trousers, 2 chef coats, a suit, an uniform and also a tool kit which has all the required tools needed in the kitchen.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college does provide students who need financial aid where these students pay a bare minimum and also all of their financial needs in college are looked after.

Campus Life

4.5

Since only the hospitality department is coed, there are a majority of girls. The extra curricular activities are great as there are many sports such as basketball Football dance events store setups and crazy shows that are quiet crowd oriented.

Hostel Facilities

5

Well I don't live in the hostel but I can say that the food and the canteen is one of the best things in college. It is highly affordable for all the students and it's has a wide variety of food items to select from and the best part is that we have two canteens.

Alumni/Alumna

Well the seniors of our college were quiet influential and with their future standing only makes the fact that the juniors future quiet joyful and achievable.

Exam Structure

Exams are quiet fairly spaced out. We have enough time to study and the exam timetable is made such that it doesn't really stress us out at all and plus not to mention the revision that takes place before the start of the exams is much in detail which does help us excel in our exams.

Faculty

5

Since each year has a total of only 60 students, I would say that the faculty is very approachable. They make the whole feeling of family in college seem appropriate. Each of our faculty members have had experiences in the hotel industry so they can actually give us their life lessons in what to do and what not to do in the hotel.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Parricularly the modules which focused on animal science & botany, the curriculum was built to learn from basics to the advance level towards research area of biology which impressed me alot. The focus on animal biology, statistics, cell biology & genetics, ecology & wildlife conservation, Immunology & biotechnology leads a foundation to successfully enter the real-world and apply this knowledge for better cause of humans as well as animals. As the therotical teaching method can differ from on-hand experience on field there is a need to improve the course curriculum around this issue. The learning period was designed perfectly in-course of the prepaption time between each test and it wasn't difficult if we are well prepared.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
