Remarks

The founder-director of the institute Dr Vishwanath Karad is a very visionary man with excellent ideas of implementing best practices in his institutes. He combines the best of east and west, to give his students the best all-round education possible. I really appreciate that apart from academics, he gives lot of emphasis to other important aspects of personality development such as spirituality/religion, sports, cultural events, arts, stage/theatre, social activities etc. In short, this institute has excellent, knowledgeable, visionary management.

Entrance Preview

At my time, Phy-Chem-Maths total score in HSSC exam was the only criteria for admissions. It happened through the centralized, computerized admission process at COEP.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It adheres to the University of Pune syllabus, being affiliated to it. Pune University has very high standards as far as the course curriculum, syllabi, the examination paper setting and checking etc. are concerned. At our time, MIT was the only college in India to have Polymer Engineering as the branch. I reckon even Petroleum engineering and Petrochemical engineering branches were very rare in India, and MIT was one of those few colleges to have these branches.

Internships Opportunities

At least at my time, there was no concept of internships in our college. Not sure if these days, it has changed.

Placement Experience

4.5

MIT being one of the most esteemed and coveted colleges in Pune, we had an excellent placement scenario. A lot of good companies from not only Pune but also from many other cities used to visit our campus throughout the year. The number of placements and packages were also very good. Most of the students with first class and higher second class used to get placed in the campus itself.

College Events

4.5

MIT has a fantastic scenario of extra-curricular activities. Various kinds of sports events, cultural events, Independence day, Republic day, technical inter-college competitions, technical intra college contests, traditional days etc. are held throughout the year. The atmosphere is full of enthusiasm, exuberance, excitement, festiveness, joy, celebration, emotional bonding, zest, vigor etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is I reckon as per the govt rules and regulations. It is not expensive, and affordable even for middle class students. The fees are paid annually at the start of each year. Student has to bear his/her own separate expenses for canteen, mess, hostel, uniform, books/ notebooks/ files etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Even though I had not opted for any loan/scholarships, I understand that yes there are plenty of scholarships/loan facilities available. Please check their website and contact the relevant staff for more detailed and up-to-date information.

Campus Life

4.5

MIT is a very diverse, cosmopolitan, modern type of college. People from all over India, and even NRIs come to MIT for a quality education. It has excellent gender ratio of almost 1:1, or in some cases there could be more females than males also.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I had not opted for hostel or mess facility, being a localite. But from my feedback from my friends, I understand that hostel has excellent infrastructure and good standards of hygiene, cleanliness, amenities, facilities etc. Mess food is also of a good standard.

Alumni/Alumna

There is a very good rapport between students and their seniors/alumni. A very friendly, family like atmosphere exists in the college during and even after completing the education. Alumni networks are there. I reckon there are regular meetings also held. Being in touch with seniors/alumni is always helpful.

Exam Structure

It is a semester based pattern. So engineering degree of four years has eight semesters. First semester starts from July and ends in Oct, when the preparation leave starts. Second semester starts in Jan and ends in April. Each semester generally has 4-5 theory papers of 100 marks each, and 2-3 practicals of 50 marks each, and some term works. Final year students have a big project assignment of 100 marks and a seminar or technical presentation f 50 marks. Such pattern keeps you in your toes throughout the year, and ensures and you are focused and studious throughout the year.

Faculty

4

The teaching staff in general is well-qualified with excellent academic background. They have in-depth knowledge in their respective subjects. Most of the faculty members are highly experienced. The staff is generally very friendly, amiable, flexible, has a good rapport with students, they try to give individual attention whenever possible sometimes used to conduct free extra classes/lectures also. Overall an excellent educational experience in a family-like ambiance. Generally everyone knows everyone by name.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Placement Experience:

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
