Remarks
IIM Kashipur is one of the fastest-growing new IIMs in the country as of now. One major drawback is that it is located in a remote place and not many people know where Kashipur is. However, it's proximity to the Rudrapur industrial belt gives it an edge. I chose Kashipur over other colleges I converted to because of its curriculum, faculty, and infrastructure.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty here is highly skilled and in abundance. The student to faculty ratio of IIM Kashipur is one of the best among the top B-schools. The teaching method incorporated here focuses mainly on practical learning has primarily had a case-based approach for better understanding.
Internships Opportunities
Apart from internships, the students are also provided industry exposure through various live projects. The live projects are in abundance for an average of 2-3 months and they offer great roles as well
Placement Experience
The placement scenario of the campus is good. 100% of the students from the batch 2020-22 got summer internships in various domains. The highest stipend offered was around 3.2 lakhs for two months. Companies from various sectors took place in the process like FMCG, IT, ed-tech, etc
Fees and Financial Aid
MBA is indeed an expensive degree but its overall exposure and learnings make it worth it. The fee of IIM Kashipur is more or less aligned with the other new-generation IIMs It is roughly around 15 lakhs for two years. There is a need cum merit scholarship available for the students as well for those who qualify the criteria for it.
Campus Life
IIM Kashipur's infrastructure is its strength. The entire campus is spread over 200 acres of area and is equipped with amazing facilities. The campus has a gym, sports ground for every outdoor and well as an indoor sport, Amphitheatre, lake and lots of biodiversity. There are a total of 33 student bodies who look after the day-to-day activities and the interests of the students.
Hostel Facilities
The mess is student-run and provides delicious food. Out of all the PGs and hostels I have lived in, IIM Kashipur has the best quality food and it will make you feel at home. Apart from that, the hostel blocks for juniors have double sharing occupancy and seniors have single sharing occupancy.
Interview Experience
After qualifying for the next round of admissions for CAP, I faced WAT which is the written ability test, and a personal interview. Both the rounds were taken on a single day. WAT topics mostly revolved around current affairs. Some of my peers got an abstract topic for this round as well. My interview round revolved around my past academics and hobbies.
