About SRCC

Since my school days in St. Xavier's, I use to hear about SRCC's excellence in commercial studies and how prestigious this institution is! When I decided to study international trade affairs in 2019, I had SRCC (GBO) and IIFT as my target. I could not clear IIFT cut-off by a very marginal score but was not disheartened since the ROI(return on investment) of SRCC was better. I cleared SRCC and was feeling ebullient to join this prestigious institution. I paid for my first semester and admission fees on 24th June 2020. Even though I was quite skeptical about the online classes due to the pandemic situation, I started enjoying the sessions in the beginning. After some sessions of 'bridging courses' (conducted by Ernst & Young), we started our classes with the regular faculty. The regular faculties were far superior to the other faculties. This is when I started feeling that physical classes would do so much better than online classes.

We have about 9 subjects- Indian Business Environment, Economics, Financial Management, Principles of Marketing, Quantitative Techniques, Organisational Psychology, Computer Applications in business, Business Communication and German as a foreign language. Mostly the teaching methods are based on case studies, which in my opinion is a very practical approach to solve complex issues.

Jaipur Rugs, Headsup Corporation, Shree Cement, Nikos Consultancy, Agarwal Packers, DCM Shriram etc are some of the companies that offered an internship this year. They offer roles like Management Trainee, Research Analyst, Brand Manager, HR etc. Stipends range from Rs 15-50K a month.

Usually, companies start coming for recruitment during the 3rd semester. Companies like Amazon, HDFC, Gartner, American Express, Genpact, Future Group etc are well-known companies that visit the campus for recruiting. Highest package in 2020 was 18.81 and average package lied around 10.16. 90% of the students were placed in 2020 and 65% of students have been placed as of now in 2021.

The return on investment is quite remarkable since for a total fee of 3.2 lakhs you may get a salary of around 18 lakhs and the average package lies around 9-10 lakhs. I have not opted for a loan but educational loans may be taken since if you perform well and your response is upright, you may get a decent package and pay off your loan.

We have not started the classes physically and everything is still online. However, from the seniors and friends who have studied in the North campus always showers heaps of praise on the campus life and the culture North Campus has to offer.

Usually, there is a GD/PI but this year there was no such screening because of the pandemic. Students were enlisted purely on their performance in the aptitude test and the marks they obtained in the test.
