What Students Say
Likes
- Faculty - The faculty is quite experienced and has a lot of industry experience.
- The boys to girl ratio is approximately 1:1. Unlike other B-Schools with fewer girls, JIMS Kalkaji has a lot of girl students.
- Placement services are quite effective and faculties ensure support.
Dislikes
- Small Campus - The campus is very small with no ground. This impacts negatively on the college life.
- Too few faculties - There are various subjects and too few faculties.
- Crowd - The college has a diverse crowd but not of quality.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is very up to date and the curriculum prepares us for real world applications. The curriculum currently doesn't have a foreign language which is very much needed in this global world. That is something that can be changed/improved. The frequency of the exams is twice a trimester and the difficulty level is medium.
Internships Opportunities
The companies coming so far have only been start ups. Most students are relying on GTB which will come soon. But soon this partnership with GTB will end and it will be more difficult to place students. The stipend offered is also very low.
Placement Experience
Placements of my college are average when compared with other B-schools of similar level. The companies which have visited so far for internships are mostly start ups like Wealth Blue and Outlook, but some other companies like ITC, Bajaj Capital and Coca Cola moon beverages have also come on campus. The highest stipend promised so far is 15,000 for 3 months or 10,000 per month for 2 months. A lot of students are yet to be placed, both for final and summer placements. My plan is also to get a job post my PGDM.
Fees and Financial Aid
Total fees is 10,00,000. Scholarship also exists for students depending on merit. There are other scholarships too for example if you're a relative of a JIMS alumni. 10,00,000 is inclusive of a Rs 10,000 security deposit.
Campus Life
My campus life is not that great as I previously mentioned that the campus is very small. Recently a fest called Zest was conducted which included many competitions and a cultural fest. There are also a lot of books and journals available in the library but a lot of them are quite outdated. Classrooms are well equipped with infra but lack extension chords for charging laptops. Most importantly, the labs are very small, having a capacity of only 30 students. So the PGDM students cannot go to the labs and have to bring their own laptops everyday as our class size is of 60 students. Sports and extra curricular activities are also conducted from time to time, but student run clubs are very low on activities.
Admission
I hdd 90.89 percentile in my CAT 2024 and 93.18 percentile in XAT 2025. These are very good scores and make a candidate like me eligible for top B-schools. I converted a lot of B-schools but around the time of admission I struggled with a few medical reasons and the fact that most of the B-schools were very expensive. JIMS Kalkajii has a collaboration with GTB and was offering me a 50% scholarship which is why I chose this college. The admission process is similar to any other B-school consisting application shortlisting, GD and PI.
Faculty
There are a few teachers like Sakshi Bhati who is very knowledgable and an excellent faculty, but having said that, there also are faculties who aren't of top quality. Not all faculties are Phd holders. Exams are conducted twice a trimester, comprising mid terms and end terms. The marking scheme is - 30 Internals, 20 mid terms and 50 End terms. Exams are usually easy and application based which I quite appreciate.
Interview Experience
Yes. There was a GD conducted, the topic was how India can become a 5 trillion dollar economy by 2030. There was no written test. There was an interview conducted by 2 HODs of PGDM and PGDM IB. The questions were related to the subject you preferred. I was already prepared for these rounds as I had participated in these processes for other campus as well.
Night Life
There is NO nightlife in or around the college campus. There used to be a gym but it is now removed. There are 2 cafeterias and a library. No hostel facility provided by the college, but I believe they do help out in accomodation to outstation students (NOT SURE). Around the campus there is only Kalkaji market where students can hang out and go eat.
Other Applied Colleges
Birla Institute of Management Technology - [BIMTECH] | Post Graduate Diploma in Management [PGDM]
Too expensive
