Remarks
Somaiya college is well known college in Mumbai region and having good academic reputation, also various sorts facilities are available. Also it has hostel facilities which is important for outside students. These reasons made me choose K. J. Somaiya Institute of Engineering and Information Technology for my graduation.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is good, but can't say it's updated to latest technologies, like being Electronics Engineer we are still studying 8051 processors and not Raspberrypi. Faculty support is very good, non teaching staff is also very supportive. Industrial exposure was good, like various internships are provided by college.
Placement Experience
Decent placement and job opportunities are available. Companies like TCS, Accenture, Idea, Mu Sigma are offering Software developer positions, also other companies are offering positions related to digital marketing, etc.
College Events
Campus life was amazing. Various events takes place every year like Renaissance is the tech-fest of college and Surge and Score are cultural and sport festivals of college. Along with these events, various seminars are conducted on various topics.
Fees and Financial Aid
Various scholarships are available. Like helping hand scholarship is available for students from low economic background.
Campus Life
Complete Campus is wifi connected and we have good sports facilities like two football grounds, a proper cricket ground, cycling track, football turf and open gym. Also the is good having variety of books and all the labs are well equipped leaving nothing behind.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel faculty is available. Two hostels are currently available. Hostels are very good and rooms are allotted on sharing basis 3-4 students per room. Hostel fees can range from 90k to 1.6lac per year. Mess food is pretty good.
